I was visiting Portland for the first time with a couple of friends for an offline meet-up. Being the nerds that we are, we decided to visit a board game store that was quite literally only a minute or two away from us on Monday, the 21st of October. Getting there at noon, it was a pretty quaint store with a small selection - but that wasn't necessarily the issue.
A buddy of mine flags me over to the back right of the store where there were Magic Cards stored and labeled as Foils, or 'Flip through me!', etc. Being labeled as such, I went to take a peek only to have the cashier working at the time yell out: "DON'T TOUCH THOSE!" half across the store with an urgency and anger that made me feel insanely embarrassed. Going back to the front, I decided to look through the Magic Cards there instead and just felt stupid for wanting to do so anyways. So I waited until my friends were done with their purchases, and we agreed that was kind of a weird, rude thing to have done and decided on a different board game store to visit.
