I was in awe!! It’s a beautiful park both in form and function. There are traditional, modern and natural design elements that provide options for all ages and skill levels. When I stood in front of “the monkey” climbing structure I thought back to my childhood where kids were allowed to play on structures that challenged them and presented an element or risk, and thought, there is so much potential here for… fun. Concerning safety: first, there is a sign that says ages 13 & up for “the monkey” structure. Second, kids ought to have the opportunity to challenge themselves and take calculated risks. It builds self esteem. Third, each family decides what is appropriate for them. Don’t leave a 2-star review because you are intimidated by challenging things. And of course it’s packed. It’s the greatest park ever and it’s been open only 2 weeks. It was wonderful to see all the families out together. Kids playing hide and seek. Making new friends and holding on to summer for dear life. (I am ready for some ☔️ though) Be patient and enjoy the fact that you live so close to such an amazing place. We drove 40 min from Vancouver, twice this week....
Read moreWe came from Sherwood, I love the concept. It was a busy day but it was a holiday. My son who is Autistic said it was too much going, Too much to see and handle. He liked the area with just the basics, climbing a rope. Before going I checked the website and it never ever mentioned no dogs in the main area. Until we got there. But what about service dogs? I get maybe it has to do with dog poop on the fake grass but I wish this was posted online. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go in with my 3 kids and husband. That may have been why my son also couldn’t last long in there. Also, people made comments about safety. But just watch the kids and they will be fine! My oldest did fall from another area but he shakes it off. All good. Also, they wanted to know feedback but only if we were locals. When asked if we lived in Hillsboro, the lady seemed annoyed we were there as she was handing out information. We will come back after it settles down a bit.

Also there are some great areas of shade so excellent even on the sunniest of days! Cool off in the "hidden creek" sand and splash area. There is an area devoted to spinning play, nature paths to different areas of the park, lots of climbing all over the monkey (lion?), some fun slides, multiple types of swings and sand and water fun...and don't forget the fake grass hill perfect for rolling/sliding down! Fully fenced in around the kiddo play area too! Bathrooms are pretty close and clean.
