I've visited this store a few times now and I'm honestly sad that we don't have similar craft stores over in Europe. It has a really good range of craft items, both adult quality and children's ranges. I do a bit of everything, from resin, to clay, to embroidery, to fibre and textile arts. They have a good range of polymer clays but they don't have some of the specialist stuff, like the fimo leather effects. They used to have a much more substantial range of resin moulds and while they've reduced that section, they still have nice things. You can also buy the multicoloured resin plaster, which is nice. When I was here in 2023 I purchased a number of open-back bezels and fun little metal inclusions and they didn't have any of those this year, so they clearly change their ranges on a regular basis. There's a nice selection of yarns and knitting/crochet equipment. The staff are always super helpful and friendly and sometimes interested in what I'm planning to make with all the things I'm buying.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that sometimes things seem very expensive for what they are and there's an awful lot of homewares that are premade, so not really for crafting with. There's also a huge focus on specific things like the cricut section, possibly to the detriment of other crafts that could have an...
Read moreMichael's is a nicely maintained arts and crafts store which has just about everything you need for your next crafting project. Not sure if it's just the current economic environment or if they are just really always an expensive store. I went to purchase some fake plants to use during the cold months in the raised flower bed in front of my house. To my surprise, everything seemed a bit overpriced. But with a 70% discount on seasonal fake flowers, I decided I would just buy what I needed from this store without shopping around. I ended up paying about $25 (amount paid) for 7 stems of fake flowers while saving about $55 with the discount. I'm happy with the $25 price but would not have paid the almost $80 at full price. I would definitely shop at Michaels again because they have lots of neat things there but most likely not for...
Read moreSince I have to travel to this shop it needs to be worthwhile for me. There are items that you can get in there that are not available at other stores. For example cake decorating items if you live in a small town as I do it's worth the 40-minute trip to Michael's to get the supplies you need. If you have a class project or a just a person who needs a special frame built for your photograph lithograph or print this is the place for you. If you enjoy Floral Design woodworking painting arts and crafts I highly recommend this place also. I would recommend to check out their clearance aisle and make sure you download or you grab a flyer of what is on sale since they are a...
