Just came form the Long Horn restaurant in Bluffton, SC.
Arrived to a 15-20 minute wait with the families, and seniors waiting their turn. What became evident as I sat there was there were enough tables available to seat everyone, however they were filled with dirty dishes. No one was busing the tables, they were left dirty. Finally a person from the back came out to bused a few tables but with no sense of urgency. She clearly was buying in to the culture of the uncaring service in the restaurant. The servers did not help out at all. Strange because they would benefit the most by having customers in their section.
We were finally seated among the dirty tables. We order an appetizer and lunch. After a longer than expected wait, the appetizer arrived. It was dry, very dry. When we were almost done the server drops off the sauce claiming she was screaming at the kitchen for it. Wish she would have shared that information earlier.
Another long wait, the most of parts of the order started to arrive. There were only two of us so I'm not sure why it could not all be together, but it all showed up after three trips, not too bad, maybe even good for this restaurant.
The server dropped the check without asking if we wanted anything else, which we did not. I pulled out a credit card, too late, she moved on the her other tables. Longer wait. I flagged her down, she took the check, punched it into the computer, than went into the back. More waiting. She returns to announce the computers are slow at three o'clock because the company is down loading at that time. We wait. Finally someone like a supervisor brings the check. No credit card. She said the server has it. We wait. I used the bathroom, big mistake, if you thing the restaurant is dirty, take a look at neglect.
I see the server, flag her down, where is my card?? Looks in her pocket, looks through check presenters , no card. She lost it. We wait.
I approached some one who looks like a supervisor, she was sorry but did nothing to help. I left but not before stopping by the hostess stand to tell her. She was sorry too, but she did not ask my name, or offer to get the manager. Service culture or poor training or both.
And the food, not worth the wait. The first visit there was good, my second a little worse, and this was bad enough I would not go back. If this was not in a location where they get a steady flow of new tourist, they would put themselves out of business. The servers have already...
Read moreFirst let me start off by saying i LOVE Longhorn Steakhouse. This location however has the worst customer service in the nation. We got our table after the 15-20 minute wait which is normal so no worries. Our server came over right away and took our drinks and threw in our appetizer. Our Wild West Shrimp came out in 2 minutes but we didn't receive our drinks for about 10 minutes. We had to ask our server 2 times for some bread which is usually brought out with the drinks. After our server failed to bring us our bread we asked another staff member for some and they brought it right out. My family ordered 2 ribeyes and 2 NYS Strips. The Strips were beautifully cooked, nice job to the people in the kitchen. One Ribeye was asked to be medium well, it was still mooing and was the first steak brought to our table....We told our server and he brought it back to the kitchen. 9 minutes later the steak was brought out to us by the food runner and she made sure to check with us if they steak was better. It was a little more cooked but not medium well. We took the steak but asked to have it removed the bill and our server said no problem. When we received our bill we were still charged for the steak. We asked our server what was going on and he said he had to check with his manager. Stephanie came over to us and said "Im not sure why you want this removed from your bill, we remade it for you" They brought us the same steak and it had the slightest difference. Mind you folks this steak was cut into so you could see if it was cooked as asked. I asked Stephanie if she looked at and she replied "How would i do that". Interesting that the manager had no idea what was going on in her kitchen (Big red flag, all the other food was delicious, cooks are doing the best they can. in the BOH). Stephanie gave us some more words but eventually said she would remove it from our bill. Read more7/22/2025 We are long time customers and have eaten here many times over the years as have usually been very satisfied after lunch or dinner. The last time we came was about 4 months ago and I had ordered a Strip with Baked potato cooked medium. My meal arrived and I could see after a bite or 2 it turned too rare and caught the waitresses attention for her to return to kitchen to be heated a little closer closer to medium. She didn’t seem too pleased but returned with a complete new steak and sides and I thanked her for it. But again, the exact thing happened and I did try to eat it but finally gave it up to return because it was cool in the middle so that’s how rare it was. Well when I was able to get her attention again she asked rather shortly what would be the problem and I stated I’m not eating this steak just bring my check please.She grabbed the plate and muttered “oh I see now, you’re one of those” as she was walking away. I looked at my wife and asked did I understand her correctly and she said yes and was as shocked as I was. Anyhow, we returned today about noon time and were seared promptly as there were few customers. My wife had parmesan chicken with asparagus and for myself a a chop stead with gravy, onions and without mushrooms. Our meal arrived promptly and presented well and my wife enjoyed hers as I again received an almost raw but beautifully charred chopped steak. Today our waitress was top notch and constantly checking her tables and I got her attention easily and she agreed it was much too race. Less than 10 minutes later I got another beautiful charred chop steak that was even more rare than the first. My waitress asked what she could do but I told her my wife is already finished so please just bring our check which she did and then again politely asked me if there was anything she could do.
