We saw Deadpool 2 on May 27th, visiting from Chicago during a rainy day at HH. While tickets were cheap compared to the prices we're used to paying back at home (~$8 a head) I like to believe that the prices have a direct correlation to the overall state of the theater. What may have been functional tens of years ago in the early days of the theater definitely showed it's age now. Dimly lit with a poor front configuration, coupled with inconsistent and small signage and dated decor, it's no doubt time for a remodel consideration.
You can tell that management is doing it's best to adapt, however, with digital displays above each auditorium entrance and a newly established theater bar.
The entrance can be very confusing as it isn't linear- we were served our tickets at the concession counter, not the ticket booths at the front doors. If this had clearly been marked at the counters, it would've been ok. But instead, we stood in long lines filled with confused patrons asking "are you buying food? Or are you in the line for tickets?" In addition, there was no clear process of using our printed reservation sheets.
The auditoriums themselves were nice. The auto reclining seats were a nice touch and in relatively new condition. However, the theater lacked the frigid-dry AC we're used to at home- it was just a bit more humid than we were used to, but bearable and not enough to cause complaint.
The sound and projector system in the theater was passable. The sounds were heavily biased towards the front center and lacked truly punchy lows from subs, but again, it was passable. Picture was pretty good with enough exposure of highlights and depth of shadows to make dynamic scenes pop. The viewing size is just a bit smaller and doesn't fill the entire width...
Read moreThis theatre is absolutely terrible in all aspects. Make the trip down the road to a different one. We were in the theatre at the time of the shooting that happened right outside. We didn’t know that it was outside until we came back the next morning to get our stuff and her immediate response was “that wasn’t in here that was outside.” The entire conversation she showed zero compassion, she was very jumpy to protect her business.
To the manager of this theatre - Your response was completely unprofessional. As an owner of a business I would at least show a little compassion for someone who just went through a traumatic experience in your theatre the night before. I don’t care if it happened outside or in the theatre itself. We were in theatre 1 and 100% thought the shots were inside because of how close we heard them. Our immediate response was to get down and try and get out as quick as possible. I would like to see you in a situation like that and tell me what your first response would be. You asked us “why would you leave the building?” WHAT? When you’re in an unsafe place and everyone is running to get out I’m sure you would get out too. I can’t believe you would even question us like that. You DID NOT have ANY staff in the lobby looking out because when we ran out there was no one to be found at the counter nor the lobby. The doors were NOT locked because that’s how we all rushed out of there. You do not have to lie to protect your theatre. There should have been some form of security either at the front of that building or inside. You could literally walk in and walk straight into a theatre if you wanted to, which is scary. We will never be back again, and I hope everyone sees this review and thinks twice before walking in your building....
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars, I would, and I've never posted a review...good or bad. Took elderly in laws and my family for a birthday movie while on vaca. Bought our tickets ahead of time requesting the 3:15 showing and selected our "assigned seats" (which is a silly concept and proved to be a complete failure). We show up 45 minutes early to claim our chosen seats only to be questioned by several other customers saying we were in their seats. We went to the manager to help us figure things out and to tell him we would just move to another row (which my family, including my father in-law with a painful knee condition) had already done. I wasn't even fussy about the situation, but was told, "You were given tickets for the 12:15 showing. Either you produce all 7 of your ticket stubs to exchange, or I'm going to shut the movie down, turn on the lights and ask for EVERYONE'S tickets which will be very ugly." Wow...so, he exchanges our tickets which put us on the VERY back corner AND split us up (which of course meant FIL had to move AGAIN). He asked if he could "make the situation right" by refunding our concessions. We didn't buy concessions, so I told him providing a refund to my FIL for our tickets would be appropriate. He brought me $6.45 for our trouble! Really! When I questioned him for only refunding one ticket, he said, "Oh, well...go enjoy the movie. I know where you are sitting, so I'll see what I can do." Do you think we saw him again? Nope. Absolutely terrible service. My retired veteran FIL took the $6 back with a few choice words...which of course was unnecessary, but seriously, folks! If nothing else, ditch the assigned seating, and go back to first come first serve. We couldn't have been...
