We have been vacationing on HHI for years and have always been very impressed with the Serg group of restaurants. This year was the exception. On our first night we ordered pizza from Gieuseppiâs. They informed us that it would be 1.5 hours for our order. This was fine as I knew Saturdayâs during peak season would result in a long wait. We arrived to pick up our order about 10 minutes prior to 1.5 hours from our time the order was placed. They informed us it would be another 15-20 minutes. No problem. We took a walk and waited outside. After 20 minutes our name had not been called so we checked in again and was told that our âpromised timeâ was still five minutes away. Long story short, we did not get our order until 30 minutes after our âpromisedâ time and ended up with 4 hungry, tired kids waiting in the 90 degree heat. After spending $68 for 2 medium pizzas and wings, we got back to our condo only to find out that our order wasnât even correct. We went out to Poseidon on Tuesday night. We enjoyed our meals and when it was time to pay we enclosed a $100 gift card to the Serg restaurant group that was given to us as a gift by a family member who knew we enjoyed this restaurant group and we were using it on a night that we had a family member staying home with our 4 kids. The server returned apologetic and informed us that their system was not able to process the gift card and there was nothing they could do?! We were visiting the island and didn't think we would have another opportunity to use this card. The manager came over and made the situation very awkward by telling us that the only thing he could do was âeat the costâ of our meal and he didnât think that was fair. We explained again that someone has paid $100 to the Serg group for this gift card, so we didnât expect them to âeat the costâ of our meal, as the gift card as already been paid for and when their system is back online they can reconcile that the card was used⌠I mean itâs not from a third party, itâs from the Serg group! The manager ended up removing some items from our ticket to take $96 off our bill. He again told us that he âate the costâ of our bill which was just very awkward and uncomfortable. It was not as though our credit card wasnât working or we were trying to get out without paying for our bill, but that is certainly the way he made us feel. We took our kids out on Wednesday and they wanted to go to Skull Creek boathouse. We arrived at 5:00 pm and they were already on a 1-1.5 hour wait. We put our name in and provided our phone number to the host. She informed us that we would receive a text when our table was ready. Fortunately we also put our name in at Hudsonâs, and weâre able to be seated there within an hour. During the entire 3 hours we were at the restaurant we never received a text stating our table at boathouse was ready, so the hostess either skipped us or put our phone number incorrectly. As a small business owner and former server, I am sympathetic to the fact that there is a labor shortage and many restaurants are doing the best they can⌠but come on Serg group, you canât expect people to continue to spend their hard earned money during their vacations at your restaurants if you treat them so poorly. It has been our go-to spot on the island since it opened, and have been to this restaurant many times, 4 times in 3 days on one occasion, recommended this restaurant to countless friends, and raved about service on Yelp at the request of our server. But, today was different. Today, I witnessed something I have never witnessed before, something I pray I never see again. The plates were placed in the wrong order (no big deal, right?), but the food on one plate had been touched and, in part, tasted, prior to discovering the plates had been placed incorrectly, with no announcement as to which platter was which (fried food looks alike, I get that). But the experience began spiraling downhill when the waiter tried to exchange the plates. We asked for the one that had been eaten off of be sent back, and the waiter agreed. He then proceeded to wait roughly 3 minutes, and return with the same, partially consumed food. Upon requesting this "replacement" be sent back, handing the plate off to the manager on duty. The manager then came back and consoled us, telling us multiple times that it was just confusion between which plate was to be thrown away (and yet it took 15 minutes for them to bring the "third" one). When the third plate was received, we soon realized it was actually just the same food, but refried until overcooked and brown. In summary, this was one of our favorite loci, but has now been tarnished, much to our disappointment. It deeply saddens me to see another SERG restaurant...
   Read moreA group of us went to Nectar, Bluffton last night. It was the Oyster roast so it was busy. Parking was insane. A friend parked in between the two handicapped spots, innocently not realizing it was illegal. The manager, Mathew called to have the car towed. One might ask what is wrong with this. I feel if he was really doing his job and enjoyed his job: thinking about his restaurant, the patrons, and the servers, he Might have made an announcement that if somebody was parked there to please move the car. When my friend went out to go home, there was no car. He called for the manager, and the manager untruthfully said that he came to every table twice and asked. We had eight people at our table and never did anybody approach us about an illegally parked car. When we questioned him about this, there was no remorse just anger. He was very, very rude. Think about how upset our friend is that his car has been towed and the financial bearing that has. For the manager to just go ahead and do this I think was cold hearted.. As we were waiting outside for our ride to come, we could see the Manager appear and make fun and point to our table. This was a very hurtful experience, I feel many people would like to have the honor to be a Manager for SERG. I truly think they can do better! Our server was very nice and understanding, and the food was good. But unfortunately, because of the managers actions, we do not feel comfortable going back to...
