Palmetto Goodwill — Local services in Hilton Head Island

My rating is more so about the prices and organization of this Goodwill rather than staff. The staff is great. They’re all really kind. If you’re looking for clothes this is definitely your kind of goodwill. They have tons of clothes it’s probably 3/4 if not more of their store. As for the home, book, children’s and everything else, it’s a mess. You really have to just have a lot of time and not really be on the lookout for anything specific other than to look around and see if there’s anything that you might want. As for the furniture it’s super minimal and a lot of the stuff is priced OK but on the high-end. Walmart gives this goodwill the leftovers they don’t sell even formula. And as for the prices of clothes I don’t really understand the rhyme or reason to it. Every shirt across-the-board is the same price and every pair of bottoms across-the-board are the same price. No clothes have tag colors like most other goodwills in the country, thus, they don’t have the 1/2 off color tags. I was in Hilton Head with my father when we decided to go thrift shopping. We chose this goodwill which was a mistake. My dad found an item that he wanted to purchase but it did not have a price so he asked a girl to price it for him and told him it would be coming out of the back shortly. We he saw it coming out he approached the lady “Mary Ann” as he was under the impression that she knew it was being priced for him. Mary Ann starts to scream at my father so loud I hear her across the store. I go over to my father who was at that time speaking to the girl that sent the item back for pricing. She then walks up to Mary Ann to ask for the item and Mary Ann starts screaming at her. At this point I did a little screaming of my own.

Mary Ann is not only rude and disrespectful to customers but also to her coworkers. She obvious doesn’t understand that customers are what fuels her paycheck. My thoughts for Mary Ann is to find another job, get laid, and smoke her one. Aside from Mary Ann everyone there was...

I was treated unbelievably rude by one of the employees/managers. I am not one to leave reviews but I will not be donating or shopping at a store that would treat customers in the way I was treated.

They obviously care more about making a profit than people actually buying things at a lower price who need to buy secondhand. Why else would they take an item back I wanted to purchase and that they had already priced and say they needed to sell it higher and then refuse to do so in a timely manner so I could still possibly purchase it? After waiting over 15 mins for them the adjust the price I was told by what seemed to be a manager, in a very rude voice with attitude, that they would do it when they got to it and not just for me so I could purchase it. Again, to reiterate, the item had already come out on the floor (at my request after seeing it outside) and they decided to price it higher after me and another gentleman...
