I went to the restaurant to place a take out order. The first women to take my order came over to me I asked her a question about my a dish I was interested in ordering. She quickly told me "hold on a second" and walked a way to clear a table ( the restaurant had many clean tables already, no one waiting for a table), when she finish that she went back into the kitchen for which she never got back to me. Almost the same kind of thing happened with the next person who offered me help, he too walked away never to return. Finally a women with a horrible attitude decided she was the best help I was going to get, but only after she seated the people who just walked in. I ordered the queso fandango, which I have had in other restaurants before. This was described as a cheese queso with chorizo. I love both I thought it sounded good. I waited in my car for less than ten minutes thinking I would get back in there before the time they said it would be ready. Much to my surprise it was waiting for me. It was the WORST so called queso ever. All it really was, was solidified cheddar cheese with the chorizo. The cheese was so solidified I couldn't get a chip into it with out it breaking into pieces. This queso they said would be baked...it was in a "to go" tin, a very thin layer a cheese in a foil type of tin. THAT IS NOT QUESO...that was solidified melted cheese that cost me $10.00...it wasn't baked it was warned up. It's awful for people getting a take out order from a restaurant where your order was less important than most other things in the restaurant; then the meal was a something the cook could not bother to take the time to prepare it properly. How dare the workers treat me and my meal like an inconvenience. BTW...I ordered tacos for my husband. He prefers his to be more like a street taco. In order to have that he didn't want lettuce, but he did want cilantro, lime and sour cream on the side. He also didn't want the black beans and rice that came with it. Normally this would have cost about $11.00. So even without the sides and substitute of cilantro and lime it now cost us $18.00 for his modified tacos. Really 7.00 more because of some lime and cilantro ...couldn't those things sub for the rice and beans. The woman had an attitude. One of the worst excuses for service I have ever seen. Shame on your staff. I gave this two stars only because the...
Read moreMoving from California to South Carolina is quite a change. We knew we would miss the great diversity of food choices in the Bay Area, but did not imagine how bad Mexican food could be prepared until going to Cincos. I am baffled why the place was full --other than that there is little other choice of Mexican Restaurants and that Easterners might not know what margaritas are supposed to taste like. #1 Margaritas are made from lime juice, simple syrup,, and tequila. Sometimes grand marnier added to the "deluxe" ones. That is what margaritas are. They are NOT made from Orange juice. News flash ! A Mexican restaurant that cannot make a margarita should be out of business. So --after receiving my horrid orange colored margarita that tasted strange, I took it to the bar to see if they were using some artificial margarita mix made from chemicals. I asked --do you have lime juice? They had some fresh limes to use for garnish, but she proudly showed me their fresh orange juice maker machine. Nice. Just not what we need for margaritas. I couldn't believe that a bartender in a large mex restaurant did not know what ingredients to use. That is like using grape juice for a martini. Just not right. I gave it back. When dinner finally arrived (45 minutes) it was the WORST. Have had better tacos at Taco Bell. Seriously! The meat was something mushy --maybe some kind of beef- ? Enchilada had a soggy tortilla , glomps of cheese, and what tasted like a canned red sauce poured on top. Rice and beans had no taste. I complained to manager. She did not care one bit. She actually suggested that maybe I ordered the wrong dinner. I asked why they would offer something that is wrong? All I wanted was a decent dinner. Taco and enchilada. Pretty basic. Manager was pleased to hear that I would not be back --obviously having no pride in the place. The owner should look into her managerial skills. Go to Taco Bell instead. ...
Read moreI'm still reeling from the incredible dining experience I had at Cinco's! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The vibrant decor and lively atmosphere immediately transported me to the heart of Mexico, and the warm welcome from the staff set the tone for a fantastic evening.
The menu read like a love letter to Mexican cuisine, with dishes that blended traditional flavors with modern twists and creativity. I opted for the carne asada tacos, and oh boy, they did not disappoint! The tender, juicy steak was cooked to perfection, and the fresh cilantro, onion, and squeeze of lime juice added a brightness and depth that elevated the dish to new heights.
But the real star of the show was the service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the food, taking the time to explain the inspiration behind each dish and making recommendations with a genuine smile. It's clear that the team at Cinco's is dedicated to sharing their love of Mexican cuisine with every guest.
And let's not forget the margaritas! Crafted with care and a generous pour, they were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. The churros, drizzled with cinnamon and sugar, provided a sweet finale to our feast.
In short, Cinco's is a must-visit for anyone who loves Mexican food, warm hospitality, and a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this gem is sure to leave you feeling like you've stumbled upon a hidden treasure....
