I haven't been in 5 years, but have been going over 30 years & I'm sad to say it's changed so much. The shopkeepers don't care to wear the Dickens Era Costumes, we didn't see any of the characters like Tiny Tim, Scrooge, none of the Ghost, there were no Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire, there weren't bales of Straw for us to sit on, there weren't Street Food Vendors, they use to start Thanksgiving morning & go every weekend til right before Christmas, now it's just 2 weekends, just a lot has changed & not necessarily for the better. Many were wearing the Dickens Era Costumes, caroling throughout the festival and stores, Boy Scouts roasting chestnuts on an open fire, street performers, benches, tables and chairs set up to sit on by fire pits, heaters, street vendors, beer/spirits tent and carriage rides.
