My 28-year old daughter got a turkey wrap, which she enjoyed. She recommends asking to have it grilled.
It's all downhill from there...
The service was very slow. I arrived at about 11:45 on a Friday. The place was almost empty. I didn't receive my food until the room had filled up and it looked like everyone else in the room was eating. I didn't time it, but it also felt like it took forever.
I'm a big guy. The chairs were uncomfortable. The table was small, barely wide enough for the two chairs per side, so my leg was constantly squeezed up against the table leg. It looked like the other tables were similar.
I ordered the french dip. It came on a roll that, sliced completely in half, resembled two (poor) flatbreads, as opposed to a typical french or italian roll. I think it was "house made". The bread was flavorless, tending toward floury. It was pale in appearance, with virtually no crust. It had some kind of italian seasoning on top of it, which made it worse, especially when used in a french dip. The largest hole I saw in the crumb was probably 2mm. I wouldn't recommend getting any sandwich that's served on that roll.
Four or five slices of beef and a slice of cheese were stacked up and cooked on the flattop. The bottom piece of meat was crusty, and the cheese that spilled over had that flattop fried taste. There was nothing one would associate with a good french dip. It was not a generous portion. The bun was cut in half and toasted on the flattop. The beef and cheese were laid flat on the bottom bun and covered with the top bun. Overall the sandwich was about 3.5" wide and about 1.25" thick, if that, and maybe 7" long. The au jus was okay. Overall I found the sandwich disturbing as a french dip, especially for the price and the wait.
I also got the house made chips, which were too dark and thick for me. I would not recommend them. I'm a glutton for chips. I could barely eat any. They had bags of non-house chips available, though.
A french dip, a turkey wrap, some house potato chips and two sodas for $44. I wish I had...
Read more1st time.... won't be the last. Impressed by the food, service & cute cozy decor. My friend lives in Rose Center, this is close to her.
I had a 1/2 & 1/2 Cup of soup (more like a bowl) & 1/2 sandwich (which ever I wanted) I chose Cheesey Potato and half a Turkey club on Chibatta. Bacon marmalade is a nice touch great flavor and fresh garnish. The soup was full of flavor and definitely Homemade, hearty lots of cheese. Rhonda had a 1/2 & 12 also, Salad & soup. Her salad looked great, Michigan Salad with homemade Ranch dressing, I got the flavor of Greek yogurt instead of Mayo I will order a salad because the dressing is so good.
N the way out, I saw the cookies and scones I had to get a couple, they give you a discount for 3 cookies (twist my arm) there was a broken cookie and I said to the gal that I would take the broken cookie PEANUT BUTTER with nuts & chocolate (I think there may have been mini peanut butter cups) Got in the car and I was pleasantly surprised, she gave me 2 whole P.B. cookies & the broken one, my third cookie was a chocolate chip for my husband.
This spot is sparkling clean a pleasure and a new place for lunch
Prices very reasonable
An outdoor patio is also available...
Read moreOh My! Some of the best eats I've had in a very very very long time. It blew my friend and I outta the water. It is so unbelievably delicious! I ordered the chicken pot pie soup and The Cafe Club. Some of the best soup I've ever had in my 36 years of living! So flavorful! The sandwich blew me AWAY! The bread so perfect with the salty with the sweet. My Goodness. It took me on a tasty journey that I never wanted to end. It was heaven! Then the cookie. THE COOKIE! PURE UNFILTERED HEAVEN! My friend's salad was gone in a blink of an eye. She loved it! The apples were fresh and the spring mix. Nothing was brown or old in any of our food selections. The to go containers were cute and handy. As we sat in our car and ate at Crapo Park, bc it is cold out and there is no where to go to sit and eat that's warm in town. :( So the functionality of the to go containers were smart. We cannot wait to come back and try more of their food! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND COMING HERE!!! YOU WILL BE...
