I initially took my scooter to the shop because it wouldn't start and had been down for a few months. The mechanic Louis immediately went for the full tune up option even after I explained that I'd already replaced the carburetor, starter cable, CDI computer, and battery. I said ok, $160 that cost. On my way home the scooter shut off on me. I didn't call because I got it started and I drove it home. The next morning, I had to call because the bike wouldn't start. He said to use starter fluid. I did, and it worked, but I had to do that everyday for the whole week. Each day I noticed how weak the motor felt as I started to drive every time I stopped at a stop light. Eventually the bike would shut off everytime I stopped at a stop light. This is all in 2 weeks time after the full tune up. The following weekend, I took my scooter to another shop to switch the muffler. I watched the mechanic and all he did was replace the muffler, no under the seat work. I rode the scooter to work then on my way home I stopped to get food. The scooter would not start after i walked out of the restaurant so I was forced to walk the scooter home. I got the scooter dropped off on a Saturday, they texted me on the following friday to tell me the scooter was ready. When I showed up they told me it was an electrical issue and that they guy at the other shop nicked a wire to the starter switch. HOW? he never worked under the seat. I rode the bike for 20 ,minutes after i paid another $80.25. 20 min away and the bike broke down. I called and they wanted to charge me $45 to pick me up and another 80.00 to fix what he is now saying is the drive chain. I ask, did he test drive the bike at all? It feels like he just saw the nick in the wire fixed that and did no other diagnostics to the scooter. I wish i paid on my card so that I could dispute the charge. I was willing to allow him to work on my bike again but when he started out saying that they have to charge me to pick up the bike i felt insulted. I hadn't left his shop but 25 minutes ago and they want to charge me to pick up a bike that you claimed to have fixed. Now I have my scooter at Salento and I will never return to this shop. Sad and Bad...

!!DO NOT LET THEM SERVICE YOUR SCOOTER/MOPED!!
Paid appropriately $300 for a Clutch replacement at their shop. We had maintenance service done by them before, Oil Change, Gasket removal/replacement, Piston replacement. I supposed they did a Good and Correct Job of these things. However, now, I have uncertainty.
I had a belt break sometime after my Piston replacement, likely due to wear and tear. However, when they replaced the belt, they suggested to replace the clutch assembly aswell because if the belt broke, the clutch is likely next to go. We trusted their insight on the matter and paid close to $300 for the repair. That is when the issues began.
When we received our moto from the shop with a clean bill of health, I immediately noticed a difference in the low end rpm range. (Basically you'd get a lot of noise, but no scoot scoot.) This is NOT normal. Before I left the shop I told them about this issue and they reluctantly took it aside and air blew the air filter and sprayed some carb cleaner to be sure. Still the same result. I took the L, obviously I didn't mistrust their work and chalked it up to a "bigger belt" or something. (I know ridiculous 🙄)
However sometime passed and the moto made a metal sound inside the crank case, and shortly after the belt (again) broke. This time I wanted to take the crank case off and inspect what happened. I could not believe my eyes.
THEY HAD PARTS MISSING! Not Only did my Crank case have bolts missing, the Variator wasn't even reinstalled! The flywheel has rollers underneath gaurded by a special shaped metal with small plasic clips to help keep it in place, 2 of the 3 plastics were missing. This caused the metal to wobble and without proper balance eventually it snapped shot out and chopped up the belt like Sushi!
Below are photos. One includes the part that is missing for observation sake.

Read moreMy experience with Scooters 4U has been a great one so far. Bought a brand new one then a used one and the staff was very friendly and super helpful and honest and was more about really helping me than making a profit. The young kid who answers the phone and is at the front counter is a super great guy and salesperson and very friendly and honest and just straight business with me. I'm happy with my purchases and on the used one they reduced the price for me and that night I found out the battery was messed up and wouldn't start and I explained that to them to buy a new battery and they went above and beyond and gave me a brand new battery for free. That's his you treat good customers. I'm very happy and pleased with the dealership and their service and prices. Jose is a honest and great guy as well and very helpful with information and advice. Will keep doing business with them. Others are just thieves and overcharge you for services that when you get the scooter back you get it mostly like you gave it to them and con you out if your money like Salentos. Now that's a place you don't wanna take your scooter to. Over 10 bucks for a spark plug for a 49cc scooter? Really? Then over 500 bucks to fix a few things amongst them the back break and when I got my scooter back the break was the same as when I gave it to them. I didn't say anything they just lost a good customer. So stay away from Salentos and go to Scooters 4U!!! Look at my new two beauties!!! The white one is 200cc and I can wheel it and all is how powerful it is and the other 150cc. Great purchases. Thank you guys!! And see you Monday to change the tire on the last...
