Shell Motel Hollywood — Hotel in Hollywood

I was staying in this motel (or should I rather say hotel?) for month and a half when I moved to south Florida. Guy and Pierre made me feel very welcomed and I felt like I was a part of the family and this comforting was the exact thing I needed during one of the most stressful times of my life. Location is perfect and not very far down from the beach. As little as 5 minutes and you there. Very safe at night. They have a pool which I never used but there was always someone who enjoyed this amenity. Rooms are big enough for one person but if you are traveling with family, you can request suites or even an apartment for long term if available. I didn’t complained. My room had everything I needed. Refrigerator, microwave, tv and bathroom 😅 I even love the fact that they have a mini-room for your closet in every room. Very clean and great room service every other day. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know 👍🏼 The only bad thing I found about this place is WiFi signal. And it is not even their fault. But it Should not be a big deal for those who travel.Enjoy the beauty of Hollywood in person!

A nicely maintained older motel, and very clean. My unit was poolside with a queen bed, good size fridge/freezer (larger than most hotels), microwave, a small table with 2 chairs, dresser, bedside table, small bathroom, and it's own air conditioning unit. A phone was available in the room, but I didn't see a charging station. WiFi service was good, plus cable tv had many channels. The pool area is a fantastic place to gather or relax, with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs, a grill, and heated pool. The brothers who own and operate this motel are very friendly and accommodating, as are their cleaning staff. I was helped in with my bags and given tips for food and shopping within walking distance. Great location, which is surrounded by a good variety of restaurants (some within walking distance) and is close to Hollywood Beach. Parking is available along the building, and was a short walk to my room. My only suggestion would be for new pillows. Overall a good experience, good value, and convenient location. Shell is a hidden gem. This 1950’s motel has several white glove awards. It’s owned by two friendly French speaking brothers who take pride in the place and enjoy interacting with their customers. There is 2 buildings. My room was next to the pool. My room had a keyed lock and deadbolt. The beds were comfortable (although a tad hard). I appreciated the mini fridge and microwave that were in the room. There is an European market 1 block away. There isn’t a coffee maker in the room. Their small pool was heated and nice to lounge in and by. Prices were similar to other hotels in the area and they provided free parking, which can save you up to $25 a night over other hotels nearby. The location felt safe. It was on highway 1 so it was easy to get to food, to the beach or other places of interest. As a solo traveler I felt welcomed and safe. This is a...
