Michaels — Local services in Holmdel Township

I shop at this Michael’s pretty often, mostly during the day. I had to run out to purchase some baking supplies last night but was pretty much in and out, I left at 9:40pm.

I understand closing shift probably wants to go home at that point and I don’t blame them, but that doesn’t give anyone a reason to be rude to customers. My cashier had blonde hair (didn’t get her name) incorrectly told me the wrong price of items (4 times under the original price point), charged me, walked away while she was finishing up ringing me up (I had to ask her for my receipt) and then I left.

I went over my receipt in the car and noticed the items that rung up triple the price than she told me. I went back in just so I could get a refund (did not make a big deal at all, I work in customer service so I get it). Both cashiers rolled their eyes at me, the blonde girl threw the items in what seemed to be a basket on the floor, and overall both girls had a fairly rude demeanor towards me.

This won’t deter me from shopping here, as my experience with daytime associates has always been great— but please keep in mind that an associate’s attitude is what closes off your shoppers...

The staff was quite busy with stock but one associate went out of his way to help me. When he didn't know the answer to one of my questions, another female associate jumped in and directed me to what I was looking for. As busy as they were, they took the time to help without me initially asking. Even the cashier at the register was extremely nice. I will be shopping here more often!!! One other thing, last year my wife and I could not find a Christmas tree that we liked. We were shopping at Michael's for something else and stumbled upon "Christmas Trees." I wasn't aware that Michael's sold them. An associate stepped in to help and actually ordered the tree we wanted and had it shipped to our house. What could be better than that? Always find something and then some. This is my candy store. I called ahead looking for yarn, was told they had it in stock. Drove down there and of course they didn't. They are having a major shortage of Bernat Big Yarn. I did get a good price on another style of yarn, not as thick but still chunky. With my teachers discount on top definitely worth it. You have to check all coupons before you go. On line. On the app and the papers. There are tons out there. they take competitors coupons too, so I used my one day- one item ACM 60% off coupon and my extra 20% off...
