As another small business, I am careful to write reviews because I understand that a bad review is important. But I also understand that sometimes this is the only way for an owner or someone in management to find out how customers are being handled too.
After reading all the good reviews of this company, our company decided to contact them for a quote on updating our Media Room equipment at our office.
Back in September when I called, they had someone in the commercial department com out. They sent Bobby Riggs to meet with us on Sept 22nd. Bobby was nice and looked at everything we currently had and said he would get back to us within a couple weeks to give us their recommendation and quote. We stated that we had a Jan deadline so that we could schedule some meetings in the room. He said that we had given ourselves plenty of time to order and install.
After a few weeks went by and when I didn’t hear from him by mid October, I finally called him and left him a message. I understand that sometimes someone gets busy and forgets. So I gave grace on my end. But when I never heard from him, I called the main number and explained all this. I was not offered to speak with someone else. The receptionist just listened and said I could leave my message with her about it. Instead of having someone else contact me, they had the same guy call me. Bobby did call me but he called and left me a VM at work AFTER work hours saying that he would get back with me the next week. It’s now December and we have never heard from him. At this point, we will be contacting another company to start all over and hope that they can update our AV equipment before our Jan deadline.
As a business, I understand I totally understand when a company is blessed enough that they are just too busy to take new customers. I am hoping that is AVX's situation. But at the very least, it would have been polite for them to let us know that they didn’t have the time before we wasted 3 months begging an employee to...

Read moreUPDATE: To add insult to injury - now they have sold off their Residential side and no longer offer support or services for the equipment I still have under warranty. No communication - just ignoring. I would not recommend this company for commercial as they do not follow up. We purchased equipment from them and heard nothing until we called to find out why they were not installing at my company. Then act like they are ready. Poor communication and lack of professionalism.
I purchased a complete home system 2 years ago and the person that was installing was using my site as a beta site to fix and automate screens for me and others. He is now gone and I have not gotten a single call back from this company even after leaving 4-5 messages about my system not working. Would not recommend this...
