Delicious! Let's just start there.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'll give you the reasons why I will definitely return 😁.
Based upon my son's Google research, my desire for a good burger, and my craving for a donut/doughnut, we met in the middle at this location. I was coming from Cleveland and he was driving up from Tuscaloosa; one hour on both ends. Of course I made it to the restaurant first and was hungry. He was playing with my emotions by taking his sweet time. I decided to have a donut/doughnut for my troubles 😬😂. They were out of a few selections at the time of order so, I purchased the "OG". The young man at the counter was willing to give me the doughnut/donut free of charge for the inconvenience. I paid because it was our choice to come at such a late hour. I was hungry guys... that doughnut/donut didn't have a chance🤣. By the time I thought of capturing the moment, I'd pretty much swallowed the whole thing...sorry not sorry 😐😁. As I waited, I was able to take in the atmosphere. They have a viewing window where the magic happens. Once my son and his young lady friend arrived we ordered burgers. I totally forgot to take photos but trust me...it was delicious. I'm not a sesame seed fan so I pulled the top layer of the bun off. The staff were awesome. The young man at the counter told me that they had fresh doughnuts/donuts. Numerous staff stopped at the table to check on us and grab unused dishes out of the way. My maple doughnut/donut was DEEE-lish-us (yes I know it's misspelled)!!!
It's an hour away but I will definitely return. I was told that they just opened a new location in Montgomery. I lobbied for a shop in T-town. Maybe they'll consider it. In the meantime...go...
Read moreWe travelled to Birmingham from Gainesville, GA to celebrate my sons birthday. We met for breakfast at Hero’s and it did not disappoint! It was a Sunday morning between early and late church services and the place was hopping!! The menu was a little different than a typical breakfast spot which I liked. (I’ve since heard their burgers are fab). The wait to order was minimal and we lucked into a table right away. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the bear claw we ordered to eat while waiting on our breakfast. The coffee was outstanding. I forgot to ask what it was but it was far better than an institutional brand. The self-serve coffee bar had three milk options; half and half, almond and oat milk. I don’t use sweetener but I’m willing to bet they had good choices. The food arrived promptly by a super friendly young man. Everybody’s order was different and yet everybody’s order was spot on correct. I had the Hero Breakfast and picked turkey sausage for my side. The meal was great but the sausage was soooo good. My son and DIL had the French toast and it looked divine. After breakfast we walked across the street to the cutest playground/park and had a lovely time. We actually chatted on our way out with the same friendly young man who brought our food to us. He noticed our car tag was from Hall County, Georgia and that’s where he grew up! He was adorable. The location of Hero’s is easy to get to, we had no trouble finding a place to park and the food and service were outstanding! I highly...
Read moreThis review is only based on the quality of the food I purchased. I am not focused on customer service. For the price point, the doughnuts miss the mark. I am left unimpressed and the only thing memorable about this specific food product is that I would not return for those doughnuts ever. We ordered over $90 worth of doughnuts which included a variety of gourmet selection. I started with the most basic- a simple glazed. It was disappointingly dry. I tossed it out an picked up a raspberry filled one. The filling was tart and sweet as it should be, but again the dough was less than exceptional. I didn’t bother trying the rest. I’m sure some birds are happy enjoying them in a parking lot right now. I do not recommend unless you immediately enjoy in store as staff can refund money while there. Again this is based only on the quality of the doughnuts- Not based on other food options or service at this establishment . I gave 1 star for effort of offering extensive creative flavors. I had 2 hungry children with me. A 16 year old and a 8 year old, and like most children love sweets. The hungry kids didn’t even finish the other halves of their doughnuts. The rest of our party was also...
