Wild Things Flowers — Local services in Homewood

I reached out to Wild Things two months before my Indian wedding in October. I had my initial consultation with Erika and Kate and everything went well. I showed them my inspiration photos and they assured me that it was something they could do.

About 3 weeks later, Kate and Erika came to the temple for the walk through. During that time they took some measurements and we talked more about the decorations in detail, again there was no indication that this was something they can’t handle.

The following day, now TWO WEEKS before my wedding I got a call from Kate telling me to pay the consultation fee. I did that as we were still on the phone. Within the hour I got an email saying that they will not be able to provide me with their services because they do not think they will be able to meet my expectations and that they have an exclusivity clause saying the client cannot do any kind of DIYs.

Here’s the problem with this. We could have maybe cut down on florals, gone in another, less labor intensive direction, we could simply not do the DIYs. However I was not even given the option to even try to figure out a solution to the problem. It’s extremely unprofessional to cancel on someone so close to the wedding date. They asked for a deposit before the walk through (which is SUPER unusual since that’s something you do after the final quote has been agreed upon). If I had paid that deposit, they did the walkthrough and realized that it’s too much for them to handle, I would have lost that deposit only to have them cancel on me.

Overall I would not recommend Wild Things to anyone for their special day. The lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and incompetence is enough for me to never want to work...

I am not a review person, but I could not NOT leave a review. Variegated pitcher plants!!! The mother's day arrangement we just picked up had variegated pitcher plants!

I've been coming here for several years now. They are, without a doubt, the best florist I have ever used. They elevate the art of flower arrangements to the level worthy of the gorgeous plants they use! This year's mother's day arrangement was, without any hyperbole, the most gorgeous arrangement I have ever seen. Mad props to Christine! Bright, interesting, original, and full of flowers I have either never seen before or in colors I have never seen before.

I am so thankful for the great work they do, and the patience, kindness, and speed they bring...

This was my first time using this florist and last. I ordered an arrangement and saw it showed delivered. I found out the people the delivery was for were out of town. It was left on the porch in hot weather. They did not call whom it was being delivered to, they just left it outside.

I requested the bouquet be picked up and redelivered. I was told that they were closed. I contacted the shop DURING business hours and sent an email as requested on the store voicemail. The email response I received back was "this is unfortunate" . I said yes it is. Too bad they lost a potential long term customer due to not being concerned about doing what is right or being just...
