Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children - Emergency Room — Local services in Honolulu

I’m not sure if this place should be considered a “Medical Center”. I went to the emergency center with my vomiting and feverish son at 5 AM. I explained to the receptionist the symptoms Then a nurse asked me what the problem was, I repeated the symptoms Awhile later another nurse asked me what the problem was, I again repeated the symptoms Then a doctor asked me what the problem was, I again repeated the symptoms… how efficient is this? Doesn’t anyone make a few notes and share the information? Doctor told me he would prescribe medicine and a Covid test be given. Also, the whole household family should comeback to Kapiolani Medical Center for a Covid test. We all came back at 9 AM but were denied Covid test. We were told we needed a doctor’s recommendation, which we had but they didn’t believe me and they wouldn’t call the doctor that attended to my son to confirm. The prescription that was supposed to be sent to Longs never was sent.

So much for “Medical” services...

I brought my wife in because we thought her water might of prematurely broke (it did). It started as a really slow intake process. Took us an hour to get a room. At first the doctor was super quick with us telling us what we should do without telling us why. But we kept asking questions and pushed the doctor to slow down. After they moved us to a new room, and from that point on the care we got from the nurses and the doctors was incredible. We had very loving nurses taking care of my wife. The NICU doctor we talked to was very informative and it didn’t feel like she was pushing us to make a decision we didn’t want to make. The nurses definitely made us feel like home even though we were thousands of miles...

Our daughter was coughing for 3 days straight we take her to Kapiolani waited for 2 hours at the emergency one young couple came 30 minutes after us and they call them in before my 2 year old daughter that was crying in pain and coughing 😰that's not right and the nurse whant My daughter to wear mask..how the 2 year old kid gonna wear mask while coughing not able to breath gonna wear mask???...
