Mahina Clothing — Local services in Honolulu

I have shopped at this store and loved them for years. I didn’t realize they have a return policy that is so restrictive...you cannot return for a refund. Sure they put it on their receipt but they don’t say a word to you about it. I have an arm broken in two places so I couldn’t try on something I bought there for my anniversary dinner as it hurts so badly to do that and takes a long time. When I put it on back at the hotel (after 10 minutes of trying) the dress was such sheer cotton that you could see through it everywhere. I decided to return it. Had to do an exchange or store credit. As I live far away from a store, I had to exchange for something I really didn’t want. I tried to try two things on but couldn’t because of my arm. The person checking me out showed ZERO compassion for my situation, said it wasn’t her fault and said it was just the store policy and she couldn’t do anything about it. Okay I get it...I am a dumb customer who has shopped with you for years, never had to return anything and didn’t read. BUT every customer doesn’t walk in with a broken arm that prohibited me from trying something on. People with zero compassion and service skills = you have lost a lifetime customer. Mahina is probably one of the most diverse clothing store that we've ever visited. The staff that work there make it extra special because they are so helpful and genuinely happy to help out if needed. Erika was extremely helpful. Everytime we've visited Hawaii, this is the first store we go to so we can purchase our outfits for the rest of our trip. I try not to pack much so I can bring new outfits back home with me. Just moved to kailua and was looking for some local clothing places. Mahina was the perfect place to stop. I found exactly what I was looking for and more. I purchased a few sundresses, cardigans, and also got a cute new bag to go with them. The customer service was surprisingly great as well. They also give a kama'aina discount for the locals!
