It has taken me three months to write this review because I knew no matter how hard I tried, I wouldn’t be able to do Memoirs justice. Food / guest experience was our top priority at our wedding, and Memoirs delivered an experience so extraordinary that it surpassed every (extremely high) expectation. Chef John and Taylor were a dream to work with. They helped us create a fully customized menu and every detail was handled with such thoughtfulness and precision. I don't even want to reveal how many emails/calls they accommodated with me on menu changes / modifications but the end result was beyond our wildest dream. I truly believe Chef John could hold his own against any Michelin starred chef and Taylor is one of the most poised and professional people I've ever encountered with with an insane attention to hospitality and service. Taylors response time on emails was so quick I often thought they were auto-replies (they never were!). We were originally planning to have a wedding cake and had done 3 cakes tastings at the top bakery recommendations on the island. When we were at our tasting at Memoirs Chef JJ let us try a bite of a dessert that they were preparing for a corporate event that evening. We immediately scrapped the traditional wedding cake and opted for a plated dessert (a yuzu cake) instead since we knew no matter what Memoirs did it would blow every bakery we were considering out of the water. The day-of service was flawless. There was a scary kitchen fire in the afternoon at our venue (Dillingham Ranch) that Chef John had to put out with the fire extinguisher but we didn’t even know about it until our (amazing!) planner (Natalie @ ABC) told us the next day. The team brought in satellite kitchens from Honolulu to the North Shore and handled it so professionally and seamlessly that the entire event went off without a hitch. Every dish was plated beautifully, and absolutely unforgettable. We had countless guests tell us it was the best appetizers they’ve ever had—not just at a wedding, but anywhere. My bridesmaids are still talking about the incredible plate lunches (seared tuna and roasted vegetables with cous cous) they prepared while we were getting ready- the fish was better in that plate lunch than any Nobu or Omakase I've ever had! Our only bummer is that we know we’ll never be able to have our wedding meal again. Chef John, Taylor, Annette and the entire team were incredible. Their passion, professionalism, and talent are unparalleled!

If I could go back in time to eat the food at our wedding again, I would do it in a heartbeat! Memoirs absolutely crushed it. Professional, accommodating, friendly, helpful… the list goes on and on. They made planning a destination wedding at Kualoa Ranch so seamless. From our initial tasting to numerous emails and calls - Taylor + team always answered our questions quickly and helped curate the perfect menu for our guests. When my husband and I finally got to sit down at our reception we were greeted with two yummy cocktails and all the apps we missed out on at cocktail hour because we were off taking our sunset photos. Chef John personally brought us our amazing dinner (short rib, salmon, taro mash, pumpkin gnocchi) and congratulated us on our marriage! We had a candle that wouldn’t stay lit at our sweetheart table and one of the Memoirs staff noticed it and swapped it out (not even their job, but went above and beyond). We felt strongly about having a late night snack and they made sure it was served at the end of the night with our "doggie bags". They also were one of the last vendors to leave. They cleaned up our entire wedding and sent us home with all the leftover food, which I think is great that no food went wasted! 10/10 recommend Memoirs for your wedding or special event. Our guests still talk about how incredible the food and service was!

My husband and I chose Memoirs to cater our wedding and didn’t have any doubts about the food at all on the day of. We came across Memoirs initially at a friend’s wedding. I remember the food being so delicious!! A year later we booked a tasting with them for our own wedding. Their selection for appetizers and entrees were perfect for our palette. We really wanted food that just resembled a local taste WHILE also being an elevated experience. The tasting captured it all and on the day of the wedding I had friends and family talking NON STOP about how good our food was. I brought take out boxes just incase there was left overs but there weren’t any. My fam and friends went for 2nds and 3rds…that’s the way I like it! Tommy and I prioritized food and entertainment for us and our guest. And let me tell yooou I’d go back to Memoirs time and time again. Mahalo Nui for being apart of our journey and making our wedding so memorable and yummy. Lastly! They also provided my dream open bar. They had no problems when figuring out the specialty drinks we wanted. Even added a lemon wheel for some flair on my specialty cocktail. Perfect open bar service.
