Little Convenience Store — Local services in Hopewell

Local resident, trucks been in the shop around 2 weeks, so ive been making due on foot/ bike to commute. Been a near- daily customer for 30 years, and on a near first name basis with the owner/ sole employee. Im also (like many folks) exclusively an Apple Pay user these days, and thus never carry a wallet out the house. Ive probably tapped to pay over 100 x this summer at this store....observed by this same lady. Walk by and stop to get a cold drink, and realize 3 steps past the door my phone is dead 🙄 No worries though, as i always carry a charger in my pocket...so i turn around to plug my iPhone in at the one outdoor outlet. Even THIS ive done here numerous times. So imagine my surprise when this 5'0 60+ year old one-woman gas station follows me out, and yanks the charger out just as i plug it in. And DECLARES "no, this costs me more money..you're STEALING my electricity you cannot steal yadda etc. Baffled, i attempt 3 different times to plead the case that all i need is like, 1% charge I AM DOING THIS TO COME IN AND SPEND MONEY at your store. She cut me off every time continued to insist im stealing with one arm, and half waving/ half shooing me away from the place. Her last words were "i have plenty if good customers, im not going to allow you to STEAL from me." End poorly articulated rant. On top of the world in...

This is my most favorite store in the city. The fountain drinks are cold and they have nice area mats at the entrance. They also allow me to use the outside charging outlets when my phone has a low charge. Owner is really sweet and nice and the sole employee is friendly and handsome. He has nice hands and a cool haircut. Great...

This was an incredible shopping experience. The store owner was so pleasant and delightful and the clerk was quite the gentleman. He was very helpful and knowledgeable on their beer and chip selections. I would visit this little slice of heaven anytime I'm passing through the metropolis...
