On Sunday, May 5, 2024, I visited Driscoll's market and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite usually having a good experience at this establishment, I was approached in a manner that made me feel uncomfortable and prevented me from having a pleasant shopping experience. The woman working there assumed that my dog, who is a social-emotional support dog, was not allowed in the store. As a legally disabled individual with severe anxiety, my support dog is essential for my well-being. I explained this to the woman and expressed my dissatisfaction with her assumption. However, she responded dismissively, stating that she can do as she pleases. This incident, coupled with the lack of diversity in the store, as well as my personal experiences of low-key racism in the neighborhood, only added to my disappointment. As an American black woman, I do not appreciate being approached in such a manner, and it felt like a form of discrimination. Additionally, Mary, who rang me up, appeared to be friendly but her staring as I left the store left me feeling uneasy. This level of rudeness and lack of professionalism is not what I expect from Driscoll's market, and it is completely unacceptable." I spent $75 in there today and I also want to say I come in every day no one ever gave me this problem and I also buy the chicken from the daily because I enjoy it but I did not enjoy my...

Associate answered with a condescending tone, as I should have already know there is a chicken special on a Sunday. Associate handed over the chicken. I then asked for a quart of mashed potatoes and gravy. I was handed a container, which had gravy and potatoes all over the outside and was NOT a quart size. I then had to ask for a second container since the first one wasn't what I asked for. As I asked the associate for another one, he rolled this eyes and sighed as tho I the customer was inconvenienting them. And then he made a comment to another customer who was waiting, how he has been working by himself since 2pm and it was close to 4pm. Regardless, it wasn't busy at the time. Getting back to my second container, he had to Saran Wrap it because again there was food sloped down the side. As I was checking out, there was another associate who thought it was an intelligent decision to put my half French silk pie, which I took out of the cooler area, on its side and next to the warm fried chicken box in the same bag. Needless to say, I had to re bag everything. Very disappointed in the level of customer service. Definitely isn't what it used to be,...
Read moreDriskill’s Downtown Market is perfect for those oh crap, I’m outta of this moments. They have the basics, & due to their size, can’t hold much more. The dairy department always surprise me with how far out their sell by dates are compared to big box stores. Their holiday ham’s are out of this world. The service is very nice & accommodating to the seniors that shop there. However, the place is DARK. The last couple times I’ve been there, the bakery section has been empty; huge bummer. But what kills me the most is the produce department is just flat out awful, gross, & badly managed. I seriously think the produce department is the reason they keep the store so dark!! The moldy berries, the bruised/rotting apples, the shriveled up plum that’s so old it’s turning into a prune. I had to remove apples that were visibly rotten to get good ones today. In the banana section, someone put out a box of not quite ripe(part green/part yellow bananas on top of the more yellow ones. For the cost of food these days, the even higher cost in your store, the produce should be beautiful for the clientele you serve. There are a lot of people that shop different things at different places. This store has the potential to increase the number of clientele, but not until they...
