had been eyeballing an Asus Rog laptop on their website for a while now, finally scraped up the money to do so, and i went to the store. I guess i could have ordered it off the interwebs, but if i'm going to drop 2k on something, i'm going to do it in person....just the way i am. So, i go up there, tell them what i wanted, and was promptly informed that those rigs weren't stocked and it would have to be ordered, okay fair enough. After several minutes (which seemed like an eternity, mind you, and there were a ton of customers there) i was informed that they couldn't order it, even from the warehouse. (with an active SKU) No real explanation was offered other than "I don't know". After up-selling me on the "next step up" model and offering to knock off a couple hundred bucks, i was informed they couldn't order that one either. tried the same bs with the "step down" model and, yep you guessed it, that one couldn't be ordered either. by this time (~ half an hour) i had at least 5 store employees (in total), including 2 (what i assumed to be) supervisors, crowded around their computer, all trying to figure out how to order my laptop (yeah....ironical, huh) It was a huge, friggin mess! i was then asked if there were any laptops they had in stock, that i would be interested in? wait, you guys are serious?! from what I've just been through, they're all, apparently, just for decoration anyway. then i had a sales rep (and i use that term loosely) show me pics on his phone of the MSI rig he built (which had nothing to do with the MSI rig he was trying to talk me into, at this point) and quite honestly, I wasn't that impressed. I've seen more professional builds, second hand on ebay. when i told him I didn't really care for MSI products (just a personal preference) he got all aggro about it, then proceeded to follow me around the store like a lost kid, i guess trying to convince me of either the quality of the msi they had in stock, and/or establishing his credibility from a few bad phone pics. Needless to say, I told them "I'd think about it" and vacated the building. I could rant and rave about this for hours, but yall get the point. Don't...
Read moreI purchased two 24" Insignia TV's online last year and from the get-go, they were so slow that they were nearly unusable. I thought that updating them a few times might help but no. Life happened, we moved, etc. and I finally purchased another Apple TV and a fire cube to use with the TV's so they'd at least be somewhat functional. The issue is that their slowness even affects changing the HDMI inputs to the point that even this is not an option at times. The town we moved to actually had a best buy so I decided to take them in and have them looked at since I was still within the one year warranty period. I made the appointment and took them in. The Geek squad guy didn't even look at them- just said these cheap TV's are slow and it's just how they're made. But he said if I purchased Total Tech ($218 for the year), there was a chance that they'd be able to come out and authorize replacements. I did this, they came out, but said it was just the slowness of these TV's and there was nothing to be done. At this point, I'm pretty tired of hearing about my cheap TV's because regardless, they cost me $250 for items that don't work. The total tech guys said I was still under warranty so I could call best buy's 1800 number and arrange for a warranty return. I called and was told that I would have to take both TV's in to be looked at (yes, I told them I'd already done this; it made no difference), and they could authorize a return/replacement there. I went to the appointment today, and was told the only option was to send them in for repair even though there's nothing wrong with them; they're just slow TV's. The guy said he could consult with his manager, Wes, who could authorize a replacement, but that's all that could be done. Shockingly enough, Wes was unwilling to help and said there was nothing to be done. I will not be purchasing anything from this store again as Insignia is a Best Buy manufactured TV and the time I've wasted on these has...
Read moreIf I could give lower than a 1 star rating I would, but the service here tonight just absolutely made me realize how bad humanity is really getting. We asked for help in locating a specific type of TV. Was told there was not a TV that our android device would cast to and we would have to buy a separate device called a chrome cast. We asked for help locating it. He directed us (with an attitude) to where it might be. Only offering to help us find it when we starting talking about getting someone to help locate a TV. Our friend shouted for help loudly (yes, it was rude and he shouldn't have done it). When a sales associate (Adam) came up he wouldnt even let him finish talking. He kept repeating "did you just scream for help". Now keep in mind our friend is a veteran with PTSD, we are here at this location to try to get a TV so our daughter with cerebral palsy can cast to it. Our friend is here because he bought a TV from here that his android phone casts to (but they dont exist). This sales associate only calmed down after I came to explain about the previous sales associate. When I went to speak to a manager who was named Christian he also got an attitude with our friend who explained we wanted a TV that would cast from the phone. Christian (the manager) commented well that's all 2000 of our TVs, what do you got next. He top only started calming down once I explained the situation again. Then he told us they couldn't help us. Did we have an attitude? Hell yes we did, when they are working for the customer they should have been there to help locate what we needed when we asked instead of the attitudes.
Will never shop here again. The store from Little Rock was nice enough to give us the district managers...
