I started working there 3 years ago the place was in shambles with a lot of hard work I tried to get it all in order where things weren't piled on top of each other so that you could see what she actually has it was very difficult at times because no matter how organized myself and other employees would get it things were piled in again to where you can't see anything I suppose some people like the hoarder look but as a employee it was difficult not only to locate things but constantly being accused by the owner of theft only to find the item later after the stress and humility of being accused. I personally took pride into they way the place looked and even spent my own money for things to make my job easier which was not appreciated. One example was a stereo for music in the store that the owner refuses to give me a long with other items I left I'm moving out of state and had a small window to get my property I left on good terms so I thought but when I called to say I was coming to get my property I was told she has the right to refuse me to enter her store and that things were missing . everyday this was something she said and 95 percent of the time it was located I find it not only offensive but hurtful constantly being accused of something I didn't do with no apology when the item is located after being accused.funny how she's doing to me the same thing she accused everyone else nor does she have a problem buying things from people that are stolen on a daily basis .It was quite embarrassing at times when the prices she put on pure junk were outrageous especially knowing what she buys them for I wish her well in her business as I would anyone I'm giving a 1 star because I know how she does business and treats the people that work for her it's all about the money and to get what you can out of them. I have close to a$1000 of items there and I'll never see a penny and the so called missing items will show up as they always do and nothing will be said no apology or nothing so if you happen to go into the store just know that the music that is playing is from a stereo she stoled from me Good luck...if you're looking for another antique store the old blue house is on Park Street right right next to Agora I'm telling you this because we were specifically instructed to say that they...

B. J. Oldies is the exact kind of shop and place in general that we MUST keep alive and thriving for always.
The wonderful blonde haired femme fatale that either owns or co-owns is always super sweet and helpful, she will tend to you, find what you need if they have it, or lead you to what you didn’t know you needed.
Antiques of all sorts & subject matter, ephemera from all decades, toys, silverware, LPs/cds/8 track tapes, vintage clothes, books, patches etc Anything and everything, you won’t be able to see it all in one go.
It’s authentic, quirky, and overall fun. I really wish there were more places just like this, but honestly, this is what most antique shops think they accomplish but don’t come close. It’s not polished, sterilized or corporate in any way, and you can tell that all kinds of folks are permitted and judgement isn’t.
I advise all people whom have vintage things they must get rid of or antiques sell them to BJ so I can come find them! This and the blue house are the BEST!
So when you’re on Westheimer near Montrose on a weekend or you’re just out for a bit, stop by, have a chat, and buy stuff. To be completely honest, when places like this don’t exist anymore we all lose and that’s just unnecessary!...
Read morePurchased a metal flamingo from this business, as I was transporting it out of my car it fell apart. Returned it the same day, business owner told me that he would give me $100 in store credit. He informed me that he would have a large metal cactus available for $100 in a few weeks and I told him I would wait for that. I called up owner to pick up the cactus, and he told me that the original agreement was for me to "wait" for the broken flamingo to sell before I could use my store credit. Nothing as such was communicated to me and the receipt states nothing of the sort. In fact, the receipt states, return for one cactus.
Further, business owner accuses me of breaking original item from several weeks ago in an attempt to get out of giving me the store credit originally agreed to.
Owner is a liar and engages in deceptive trade practices.
I believe he originally lied to me about store credit and waiting for a large metal cactus shipment to come in, and did so in the hopes that I would forget to come in for it or would lose my receipt...
