I was visiting Houston for a day and stopped into the store. I enjoyed all of the products and how curated everything was, but didn’t find a good souvenir that I could cram into my carry on bag for the flight. I left after maybe 10 minutes, and stopped into the coffee shop next door for a coffee to go. I was then followed into the coffee shop by an employee of this store and asked to move my car out of one of the designated parking spots while I was waiting in the take-out line. The employee wasn’t explicitly rude, but it was a really jarring experience.
On one hand, while I understand that there are limited parking spots and I was taking one of them for an additional 5-10 minutes to get a coffee after visiting the store, I also feel quite uncomfortable that I was being watched and followed after leaving the store.
Once again, it was my first time in Houston and I didn’t realize I was in such a bustling area and at such a busy time during the weekend, and that’s my mistake. But at the same time, to avoid making customers uncomfortable in the future, I might suggest adding a poster/extra note about parking and how limited it is for the store. Read moreWhat a special place! From whismy to witty to beautifully crafted candles, prints, clothing, toys etc — this is the perfect stop for a unique gift for a loved one (or even yourself). I always love going to quirky and artsy shops — so I usually see the same things — but this space was different, there were artists and artisans I'd never seen or heard of and the most marvelous random and special things I've seen in a while. I caught myself chuckling and ooohing out loud a few times.
I left with two cards, the most beautiful dainty earrings, a hilarious t-rex ukulele magnet, and some hand crafted eucalyptus and sage incense cones.
This is definitely going to be a spot I frequent in the future. Great space and great staff too.
Oh, by the way there are at least 3 designated spots in the parking lot behind Space Montrose & Common Bond, I didn't know so I parked...
Read moreStaff was absolutely lovely & super helpful & knowledgeable about all of the items in store! It’s all small businesses based in the US, but a large portion of those are specifically based in Texas! It’d be hard to sum up exactly what all was in this store, but I will say it’s be the ultimate place to get gifts for your quirky friends. An example being purchased my stepmom an astros coozie where they had photoshopped one of them as Jesus & she LOVED IT. I got my little brother a ranch bottle sticker.
It’s all totally random stuff, but again, if you if you’re quirky or know a quirky person this place is golden. I def plan...
