Great barbershop with the perfect mix of modern and a throwback vibe. Melinda is my barber and she's amazing.
My hair is notoriously tough to fade. I had decided I would go wherever was closest, no one was going to cut it any different, or better. I found Melinda, and hit up Cutthroat on Westheimer - I don't live anywhere near there, but it's my place now. Amazing haircuts, hot towels, and shaves all day. The barbers seem to all be friends and it keeps a good conversation going in the place. Keeping it real, you might have to get to your barber before you see all this great stuff if it's your first time; the desk isn't really a 'welcome' desk-type. I've never been greeted walking up/checking in or offered a beer/drink.
My barber had given me a beer once; things were running behind or I got there early - nothing big, just a short wait. I went to go ask for another, and was told just plainly 'you already had one'. That's not something typical, or that would have probably ever happened again. I'm usually running by during the work day anyway, but it would have been nice for the one-off time, to have just relaxed. The haircut is why I'm there, and I just know if I'm thirsty I need to go to a store before.
My barber's on it as soon as she's free - but taking a drink (filtered water in glasses, not bottles) to the chair just isn't that great, it's a while-you-wait-thing for me, so I do say no.
If you want/need something including checking in - l see more than a bit, a person stand up when their barber goes to ask at the front if their appt is there and the person overhears their name. Your barber will catch you once they know you, but if it's your first time, you probably need to go initiate that. There was a different younger woman there once and she was super nice and welcoming. There was a time I guess the amount he charged my card while I was there wasn't correct - I honestly didn't look, and my card got charged again that evening without a phone call or anything. I'm not crazy about that - but also not surprised, and sure that no one in mgmt even knew.
Like I said, I'm there for the haircut, which is hands down the best I've ever had. All the good, with only the one honestly critical thing I can say, I'd definitely recommend trying them out. Melinda's awesome, and you can book on their website too.
You didn't know you needed a new barbershop, but if it's not here,...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Cutthroat Barbers for the past three years, and I can't recommend this place enough! Every visit is a fantastic experience, thanks to the consistent quality and welcoming atmosphere.
The team at Cutthroat is exceptional. LG, my go-to barber for 7 years now, is a true professional with an incredible eye for detail. Whether I'm getting a trim, a new style, or just a clean-up, they always deliver exactly what I want. Their expertise and ability to understand my preferences have made each visit a pleasure.
The shop itself is immaculate, stylish, and has a great vibe. The staff is always friendly, making me feel right at home from the moment I walk in. They keep the place clean and well-maintained, and their adherence to hygiene protocols has been especially reassuring.
What I appreciate most is the consistency. Over the past three years, I've never once left disappointed. The quality of service remains top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable given the level of care and attention provided.
If you're looking for a reliable, skilled, and friendly barbershop, Cutthroat Barbers is the place to go. I'm already looking forward to my next...
Read moreThere is an unpaved parking lot just east of here that is accessible via Windsor St. There is no entrance to the lot from Westheimer. According to the staff, parking can be difficult during peak hours because it is shared with other nearby businesses. If it has been raining, the lot will be muddy so wear appropriate shoes. The inside is one large open room. It was clean and bright. The receptionist is in the back corner and the waiting area is in the front corner. The staff was friendly. I used a new to me barber because my go to barber at the Washington location had to cancel last minute. The haircut I received was fine. I provide guidelines and ask the barber to make it look good. It didn't come out how I like it, but it's good enough. I've found that finding a barber you like at one of the locations, letting them get used to how you cut / style your hair and then using them going forward works best. I have nothing bad to say about this location. Unfortunately it wasn't my...
