Dorie Robinson is the Heart of Don McGill Toyota – Two Amazing Purchases and Exceptional Service
If you're searching for a car-buying experience that feels honest, personal, and entirely stress-free, look no further than Dorie Robinson at Don McGill Toyota. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dorie twice now—once for my own purchase, and again recently when helping a friend—and I can confidently say she is the reason I will continue to recommend Don McGill Toyota to everyone I know.
Back in September 2023, I purchased a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Limited, and Dorie made the process truly exceptional from start to finish. She took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and treated me with genuine care and respect throughout. Dorie is not just knowledgeable about the vehicles—she’s a great listener, a strong advocate for her customers, and someone who takes pride in making sure you feel good about your purchase. I never felt rushed or pressured. Instead, I felt like I had someone on my side—helping me navigate options, answering every question, and ensuring I drove away in a vehicle that exceeded my expectations.
A huge thanks also goes to Jay Pedraza, my finance manager during that purchase. Jay was professional, straightforward, and incredibly patient. He made the financing portion smooth and transparent—no surprises, no confusion—just clear communication and solid guidance.
Fast forward to just recently, when my friend decided it was time to purchase a new vehicle. Without hesitation, I brought them back to Don McGill Toyota and straight to Dorie. And once again, she delivered the same level of excellence. She treated my friend with the same care and attention to detail, ultimately helping them drive off in a 2025 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium—a perfect match for their needs and budget. My friend couldn’t stop raving about how friendly and knowledgeable she was, and I wasn’t surprised at all.
This time around, Fernando Meza handled the financing for my friend, and he was just as impressive—efficient, informative, and incredibly helpful in securing great terms. His professionalism helped bring everything together smoothly.
But the real standout in both experiences was, without question, Dorie Robinson. Her consistency, her empathy, and her ability to make customers feel truly valued are what set her apart in an industry that often feels transactional. With Dorie, it’s not just about selling a car—it’s about building trust and relationships.
If you’re thinking about buying a Toyota—make Dorie Robinson your first call. She’s not only one of the best in the business, she’s someone you’ll want to work with again and again.

I leased a 2025 Toyota Camry XSE AWD from Don McGill Toyota in March 2025, and it was one of the most financially and emotionally stressful decisions I’ve ever experienced — one I now deeply regret.
As a first-time car buyer with a 670 credit score, I trusted this dealership to guide me fairly. Instead, I was pressured, misled, and rushed into signing a lease with a $1,150/month payment, totaling over $41,000 over 3 years for a car that costs about $45,000.
⸻
How I Was Treated:
• My salesperson, Israel, pressured me into picking a car quickly and became visibly frustrated when I asked questions about pricing. He told me, “I’m just sales — the numbers are with the finance manager,” and kept deflecting any financial conversation.
• Then I was told to come in close to closing time (around 8 PM), where I met Rommel R. Manuel, the finance manager. He rushed through the paperwork, and while he did show me a money factor, he downplayed its impact — I later found out it translates to subprime interest levels, which I was never told.
• The final lease includes over $9,500 in overpriced extras: service contract, GAP, tire & wheel, and other products — many of which I was never told I was buying.
• The capitalized cost was $55,000+, nearly $10,000 more than the car’s MSRP. I didn’t realize this until I reviewed the paperwork at home.
⸻
My Next Steps:
• I’ve filed a complaint with Toyota’s Brand Engagement Center and am requesting escalation to a regional case manager • I’m canceling all service add-ons to reduce my inflated lease balance • I’m preparing formal complaints with the: • Texas Attorney General • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) • Better Business Bureau (BBB) • I’ve also met with other dealerships who were shocked by the structure of this lease, and I’m working on trading out of it and repairing the financial damage
This experience has left me feeling taken advantage of — not just financially, but emotionally. It was done deliberately, and the dealership used my lack of experience and late-night pressure tactics to close a deal that no one should be in.

Please stay cautious when dealing with Don McGill Toyota — especially if you’re a first-time buyer or unsure about how financing works. Do not sign anything you don’t fully understand, don’t let them rush you at closing time, and always get every number...

I been with them since 2015 purchingsing 3 tundra and last 2 I didnt buy due to want to charge me 10k on top of msrp. I waited and I just end up getting an Uber since they said they don't have that program which is a total lie. Suddenly Felice told me my truck is done. Then he look at the paper work and they change oil and rotate the tires. So he ask me I can wait for 25 mins. I said no i need to head home. Without phone call about my truck is done, I Uber to toyota and made 9 calls to tell them im on my way. Never in my life I been treated like this over the phone and I person. Reason I call 9 times because they said we transfer you to the manager and it always hangs up of they just hang up. This point im frustrated that 8th call the finance guy was being rude. They would not release my truck because its 5:50pm and my truck is in the bay and they will not take the truck out. He said I was rude by explaining to him that If he transfer , the call was drop. The 9th person, he cursed me out with the f word many times. I got there, saw a gentleman at the service area doing papework and i ask the guy can I speak to the manager? He said yes but assist that he can help. I said I just want my truck back and need to go get tires asap. He call my name and said your truck is outside. Then he said please complain to the other manager. So which i did and when i left to get my truck, this was 630pm. Keep in mind i didnt got home till 1130pm. They trash my truck with everything inside my glove department and made are Toyota take pics and when reverse, oil said its low. Made them came our and took a picture and a gentleman said they probably forgot to reset. I said let's fine out. As you see in the pic, there was barely any oil and would not let me get a loaner or a quart of oil to get home. Waited 3 to 4 hours back and forth. So I said I leave here and something happen then what? They said just go get your own oil and give us the receipt. I left and 2 mins my truck started to shake and loud emergency noise and Dashboard had check engine light, everything was popping up. All they said was sorry. Please check your oil yourself and your tires. They are not about customer. We just a number for them to beat the sales. Highly recommend not buying and service your vehicle there. Don McGill mason and katy. I give...
