Used car lot practices at a Porsche franchise store? Yup!
I've purchased over 10 cars in 2018, all were 6 figures +. I am not boosting but establishing credibility as someone whom purchases many vehicles and very well qualified. I contacted the dealer regarding an $80k used Ford truck they listed for sale. This was to be a tow vehicle for my exotic car trailer.
At first contact, dealer stated they had a buyer already lined up but their application was not clean and the car may be available if the current buyer cannot perform. I spoke with a manager named Phil. The next day (dec. 22) Phil calls me stating the car is available. Phil had a sales person names Khalil contact me to close the deal. I promptly provided the info they needed (DL & Insurance). I also applied online for credit and text both Phil and Khalil a copy of the online application.
Khalil advised they would process the application the same day (Saturday). I tried to reach Khalil towards the end of the day but received no update. I did the same with Phil and he stated the finance office was busy and will process the app the next business day. Phil confirmed they are closed Sunday but open Monday (Dec. 24). I offered to leave a deposit and asked for confirmation the car was being held for me. No response to that test was received.
When Monday came around, I tried to contact Phil and Khalil but no luck via text or voice. I then called the dealership. They advised Phil was not working that day and Khalil was busy with a customer. I then asked to speak with finance and Lea picked up the phone. She advised she had my application on her desk but needed to speak with Khalil about something regarding the application but did not tell me what it was. She stated Khalil would call me back soon. I could tell that she was holding something back but my credit is exceptional so I could not be the issue. Via credit karma, I later realized that they had not even pulled my credit.
When the end of the day came, I called all parties but could not reach anyone (Phil, Khalil or Lea). I then asked to speak with a manager. I was routed to Woody's voicemail and left a message making him aware of my displeasure. The message was left Monday afternoon. The following day was Christmas. Today is the 27th. The dealership re-opened yesterday but thus far, no one from the dealership has contacted me and of course the car is no longer listed on their site. Safe to say it has sold to another buyer.
I dont mind that they sold the car to someone else. What I do mind is the dealership wasting my time and not having the professionalism to advise me they preferred another buyer/deal. Phil/Khalil/Lea and Woody all received messages from me and none of them had the decency to call me back or just send me a text to move on. I will say that most surprising was the even Woody, the manager for a Porsche franchise store, didn't care to call me back. Given we agreed on a purchase price of $79k, just $1k under their asking price, I don't know why they would even entertain another buyer.
However, I am certain that Justin, Billy, Todd and the rest of the folks at Porsche of N. Houston (Indigo auto group) were pleased to find out that the Porsche West Houston (Sonic) had helped further solidify my loyalty to Indigo. The only reason I approached Porsche West was because they had a unique truck for sale. Had I not been seeking a truck, I would have had not reason to contact them over Porsche N. Houston.
Porsche West/Sonic- I will never work with a sonic dealership due to this. Just in case you dont care to have lost my business, I am happy to let you know I've recently sold back my 991 gt2rs. I took a $30k loss after driving the car 100 miles. Not happy about the loss but not loosing sleep over it. My .2 gt3rs weisach is arriving soon and in Q1 next year my SVJ, Pista and 720s Spider will arrive. In my garage currently are 2 Bentleys and an f12tdf. Feel free to call up Indigo and verify. This was truly a gift from you to Indigio. Maybe Todd will even send you a thank...

I had a highly disappointing experience with Porsche West Houston that has left me frustrated and without a car. I was excited to purchase a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe with only 9,966 miles from them, expecting a smooth process given their prestige. Unfortunately, it was a disaster from start to finish.
I put down a $500 deposit on June 13, 2024, and wired the remaining $9,500 the next day. Despite living in San Antonio and dealing with a long-distance transaction, I trusted this Porsche dealership to deliver. However, communication quickly became problematic when I couldn’t get simple pictures or videos of the car. They assured me it was in pristine condition – no scratches, fully maintained, and clean inside and out.
When the car finally arrived on June 19, it was filthy, both inside and out. There were scratches poorly touched up with the wrong color of paint, including blue on the door handle! My sales rep, Thomas, swore they would fix everything but later flat-out refused to help. The following day, a storm hit, and water leaked everywhere—through the seats, visor, sunroof, and onto the steering wheel and floor. It was a complete mess.
I had to take the car to a Mercedes dealership on June 21 and had to pay out-of-pocket to get the necessary repairs as they took forever to reimburse me over $2,000. Even after that, the car continued to leak, the passenger side blew hot air, the door lock didn’t work, the sunglass holder was broken, and regular maintenance hadn’t even been done. To make things worse, Porsche West Houston ran my credit nine times without my permission, even though I was already pre-approved for financing with Chase.
The dealership forged dates on the credit application, causing further damage to my credit, and they refused to remove the inquiries. When I eventually returned the car, they sent my $10,000 refund through snail mail without tracking, and weeks later, I’m still waiting to get my money back. The dealership also refuses to cover my rental car expenses, leaving me stuck without a car and unable to buy a new one until this mess is resolved.
Porsche West Houston’s customer service is atrocious. The GM even sent a botched letter to the credit bureaus with the wrong transaction date and name, showing a complete disregard for my situation. This dealership has caused me endless headaches, financial loss, and stress.

Read moreA Cautionary Tale for Porsche Customers: Disappointing Experience at Porsche West Houston
I’ve been a loyal Porsche West Houston customer for years, entrusting them with several high-performance vehicles, including my GT2RS and Cayenne Turbo. Until recently, I had no complaints. However, my recent experience has been beyond frustrating and deserves to be known to protect other customers from similar treatment.
I brought my Cayenne Turbo in for a front drive shaft and front differential replacement—a repair that, under normal circumstances, should not have taken more than a few weeks. Instead, my vehicle sat on their lot for nearly a year. Yes the refurbished differential arrived late (not a year) but it demonstrated no mechanical problem.
When I finally picked it up, I discovered numerous issues that were not present when I brought the car in: • All coolant leaked out while driving home. • Broken vacuum hoses triggered a Check Engine light. • A broken ride height sensor. • A gasoline leak on the left fuel injector rail, which poses a serious fire hazard.
These damages necessitated multiple towing trips back to the dealership, creating significant inconvenience and additional costs. Despite paying over $5,000 for their services, Porsche West Houston refused to accept responsibility for the new damage and dismissed the factory warranty on the new parts.
Their management General Manager, Marianna Brasel attempted to deflect blame by falsely claiming that the age and mileage of the vehicle caused these issues, which is simply untrue. I personally re-installed the entire intake manifold and clearly demonstrated that the spontaneous breaking of hoses or pipes did not occur due to age. This was purely a result of their technicians’ mishandling of my vehicle. It is clear that Porsche West Houston’s service department is limited in their technical ability, raising serious questions about the end quality of their work.
Critical safety checks—such as inspecting for fuel leaks or other damaged components—were completely neglected. If you value your safety and your vehicle, I strongly recommend avoiding Porsche West Houston for any service needs. This experience has been a disappointment for a brand that claims to represent luxury...
