I got 2 pairs of shoes I had to return both. First was too small and the second was too large. I have a flat wide foot so it is difficult for me to fit into a comfortable wide shoe. The first time I went in they didn't fit test me. The second time I went in they still didn't test me. Finally the third time I went in the guy tested me after he said you should have been tested. I said no I didn't get tested. Maybe you should have and I could better understand my foot.
The issue is that they kept putting me in a stability shoe. Only one worked but that the rubber sole was a bit too big for my feet. Finally I just ended up returning the 2nd pair and walked out without any shoes. I don't know the man's name who helped me last. I assume it is the manager or lead. He got defensive and said they were runners and have run marathons so they know shoes. Little does he know I had been buying from Fleet feet after I was introduced to it by an engineer at my work who is a runner 10 years ago. I was shocked at what good shoes meant for the body. I do not run, but I walk a lot. And I wear sneakers to work after breaking my foot about 10 years ago. The original flagship store the employees were so helpful. The Voss location they didn't really seem confident in knowing what different options would be good for me. Instead of bringing out different options and types of shoes. They just let me walk out.
I went to Katy location. And wowww!!! Tyler at Katy location was amazing. I got there an hour within closing. I told him that some shoes were too tight or the arch was too much. He asked me to be honest if the shoe was just "ehhh or is it comfortable?" And it is ok if it's "ehh." I told him "it is ok...not great." He immediately said that it was ok and let's try a neutral shoe. He brought out a bunch more the first and second pair he brought out worked perfectly. So my question is to Voss employees...why did you not let me try different options and styles? They kept insisting on stability shoes. Maybe next time let the customer try...
Read moreI have heard such good things about this store. My experience was disappointing, at best. I have never treated myself to the shoe assessment that Fleet Feet is known for and was eager to learn of my God-given foot structure and what shoe would best complement me for my fitness goals. Perhaps my expectations were too high because I was haphazardly treated by a salesperson that seemed to not care who I was or to serve me well. He acted like I was and inconvenience to him. I had to ask for the foot measurement and assessment. I had to ask for explanations and expertise in regards to the shoes. He made me feel stupid the entire time. I did get a pair of shoes in brand that I don’t usually wear and a size and fit that I don’t usually use. I was the least purchase I have ever made for myself. I am skeptical at best as to whether these shoes will work but was so bewildered by his demeanor that I just wanted out of the store. He even commented on my weight while I was on the foot assessment machine. Why?!? He teased me for my worn out workout shoes. (Yes, I take care of myself last and let them get dangerously worn!) He suggested that I just buy the same shoe without even asking me my particular needs. I wanted to treat myself today with a personalized experience and walk out excited about my assessment and new shoes. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and pushed out. The other salespeople seemed to be very engaged with each of their customers. I feel cheated. I am never using this location again. Maybe my next fleet feet experience will live up to the hype? If you go to the Woodway location, pray you don’t get Mike Mekuria as your salesperson....
Read moreOct 2020 Amazing service at this store! Used this Fit ID helped to find some ideal running shoes for myself. I usually use some inserts because of my real flat feet, however the employee was able to find some shoes that didn’t require that so that been a real great find.
Feb 2021 Found some great shoes for my sons (15, 13 & 10). One is training to run the half marathon in The Woodlands this March and the other two are running about 8 miles each week (3-2-3). Great service! Very friendly and willing to find the right shoes. My shoe was only $1 more expensive than Amazon prime. If you’re wanting to have a great running experience make this your first stop!
8/28/2021 I still stand by the 5 star rating. The staff were busy yet very attentive. You might have to be patient if they are working with others. Their knowledge on shoes is exceptional. This isn’t a pick your color type of a shoe place. If you’re looking to run (sprints, long, recreational or very active) this is the place to go. They use a scanner to identify your foot size and width and also identify your foot profile (arch or no). If needed they’ll have you run on a treadmill to observe your foot placement and gait. Exceptional service today for my 16, 14 & 11 y/o. One son is looking to a marathon in 3 months, another to decrease his mile time and the last looking to have more stamina for soccer games. We received great suggestions on shoes based on their updated foot profile and their comfort in the right shoe. I highly...
