Kroger — Local services in Houston

Since I can’t leave multiple reviews and this issue is similar to my last one, will just add on: Drove quickly to the Kroger I go to almost daily, as I know they close at 11pm and needed to grab one thing after I got off work. Got to the door with time to spare…the door was locked…waited…waited…waited…manager shows up. I try to tell her I just need to grab one thing and it’s not even 11pm. She angrily mouthed, “We’re closed!” Mind you if’s still not 11pm yet. She wouldn’t let the other customers out until I walked away. I guess because she didn’t want to talk to me without a door in the way? I’m not sure what her reasoning was for that, but it just made a bad situation worse. Now I’ve been refused entry and have been treated rudely twice. I’ve seen her yell at a handful of other customers and always assumed it was the customer who was in the wrong…now I’m not so sure…

2021: Store wouldn’t let my boyfriend in (I pulled up in car and let him run up because we were short on time) and they said they were closed when they don’t close for another 15 minutes and as he was walking away they let multiple different girls in. Guess I should have gone because this Kroger bases who is allowed off their sex or at least their employee that night did. Having prejudice like that is not only wrong and incredibly unprofessional, it is extremely illegal. Completely disappointed with the Kroger I go to daily. Literally was going in to grab one thing that was right inside at the front door display. It’s funny because I’ve never had an issue running in at the last minute..guess again that’s because I’m a female. Incredible...

I do not live by this Kroger, but I stop by whenever I use the gas station. My Kroger card racks up a lot of points and there is no gas station at the Kroger by my home.

I always go into this Kroger when I'm in the area because it is so much better than the one by my home. You would think living by River Oaks would produce a better Kroger, but that one is just terrible. This one has such a better selection of their carbmaster yogurt, health/beauty products, Think bars, bakery items, and overall produce. The only downside about this Kroger is that they don't have the paper bags with the handles on them. I would buy more from this store, but it's a 20min drive home, and if I have to stop along my way back, my perishable items wouldn't make it.

I should also note that this Kroger is always clean and well stocked. If they are out of something, you would never know due to the way they stock their shelves.

Get a Kroger card if you do not have one. It doesn't cost a thing. If you download their app, you can upload coupons to your card, even for different stores. These discounts will be added on top of any regular in-store price reduction. You can sort through the store coupons so you're not looking at items you don't need (ie. Baby food). The app is worth it. The points add up too. I fill up about once/month and had $.60/gal off my last fill up. It's good for any grade gasoline (I'm sure diesel too).

This store has NO compassion for the handicapped I believe actually has prejudice against us. Yesterday they had 5 handicap carts lined up and only ONE worked. 3 had dead batteries but nobody had bothered to plug them in. They were so close together had my husband not been with me I couldn’t have gotten one. This is the SECOND time the cashier was rude to me. ARCHIA was obviously listening to music or something on his Bluetooth. He didn’t greet me and was throwing my stuff around like I had offended him. Last time when I asked the bagger to put larger stuff in first so I could get everything in my basket actually aggressive and said he KNEW how to bag. So I had to drive the cart to my car holding a big bag of paper towels on top. I couldn’t see. Shame on you. So it’s been TWO months and no improvement. That got rid of 2 of the carts that don’t work (now only ONE) there. This is the 3rd time I foolish to try it again. ALL THREE TIMES, 2 carts NOT plugged in that are dead. I complained to manager And she said they ordered some but sent them to other stores that had none. I don’t believe it. I truly believe they just don’t want handicapped people in there.
