Is it possible to give 0 stars (no it is not, you have to put at least one star in, boo!)? Let me start off by saying that these cakes are absolutely delicious and the presentation is astounding and adorable. With that in mind, I have given their bundlets as birthday gifts for co-workers and team mates for about two years. They are always a hit!
The Westheimer location's customer service is beyond lacking and in a word: atrocious. I go on a monthly basis and they have consistently been slow - making my 30 minute lunch break non existent. I have overlooked that because I know it's the Galleria and they have many customers. However, several times I've been told to wait my turn - which I understand but because the store is teeny tiny and most people are waiting to the side after they have ordered (read again SLOW SERVICE)- I always ask if they are in line. Today, I asked and was told by the 4 other people in the store - oh, go ahead - we are asking about donations and one had already ordered her cake. RUDE SERVICE REP when I told him that I was just there to pick up a pre-order (that was sitting on the counter next to him), he said that he must address the people in front of me - since I had already asked everyone in the store, I was a little taken aback but said sorry and let the people in front of me order (which again took a long time, did I mention SLOW SERVICE?) Then, he starts addressing others that had obviously come in after me but had boldly walked up to the counter what they wanted and how he may help them - not just asking kindly, asking as in ready to ring them up asking. I said, um, yes, I was definitely before them - may I now please have my order. He rolled his eyes, put on his fakest voice and said "what was your order?" - he gave me my cakes and I was on my way but LIVID and my hands were shaking. I called to speak to a manager - just wanting to hear, we value your service - I'm sorry you had a bad experience. The assistant manager, Sarah, handled it well - she listened to me but since I was so upset, she forwarded to the owner. He was RUDE from the second the phone was answered - "she told me you had a problem but I don't know why you are on the phone." I explained (and by this time I was more calm as SARAH had done a good job by just listening to me) and his exact words were "so, what do you want me to do about that?" and I explained that I just wanted recognition that it was not properly handled; i was not looking for a hand out - I truly spend about $50 there a month - all I wanted was someone telling me - I hear you, and I'm sorry, it will not happen again - or even "we'll do our best to ensure it doesn't happen again". He instead defended his representative and said that it's customary to help people as they walk in the door and greet them; I said greeting them is understandable, that's not what this was and he told me I must have been mistaken. PLEASE do not order from the westheimer store - go to Sugar Land if you must have these delicious...
Read moreThis experience was by far the worst I've had with customer service. We walk in and we're immediately ignored as we stood there waiting for someone to assist us. The employee who we later found out was the Manager kirsten didn't even acknowledge us as she continued to talk on the phone. An employee had to come from the back to assist with our order. While we were giving our order to the employee the manager basically told my husband to move over multiple times very rudely interrupting him as he was trying to place his order, as if he was in someone's way, which he was not. My husband was trying to look at their cakes on display which is in the center of the business and was told here just look at this, while a pamphlet was shoved in his face, again very rudely. I watched and listened as she the manager assisted a couple with their order and her whole demeanor changed including the way she spoke with them. The only difference between ourselves and the couple she assisted was skin color. They were white and we were not. I've never experienced this kind of treatment and unprofessionalism and in this day where the mistreatment of minorities is being brought to light you would think businesses would gear more towards training their employees in diversity, professionalism, respect and equal treatment to all but that clearly wasn't the case at this location, which is very disappointing. I will definitely not return to this location but this kind of treatment is not ok regardless what...
Read moreWe have a family of 7. There was one other person in the store, and a sign outside that just stated mask suggested, not limited numbers or anything. We proceeded to walk into the store all with mask on. Two of us managed to step past the threshold when the lady came flying from behind the counter to tell us we all could not go in while holding her arms out and shooing us back. She started by firmly stating "all of you cannot come in here at once." I told her OK and turned to figure out which would stay outside and which would come in. At this point 2 of us had made it in.. the others were still at the door. but there she stood her ground shooing us out. She never told us a number of how many could be in the store. It was clear we were just not welcome. We aren't disruptive. No little kids, 2 @18 1@16 and 2 @13. But we were shooed away all the same. There was no suggestion as to how many would be allowed. Not one of us said or touched anything, she just wanted us out. I really don't understand either because we have gone as a family to nothing-bunt-cakes for years. We have spent hundreds of dollars there for birthdays, mothers day, special occasions and/or weekly treats. I am flabbergasted. This is the last time I will ever go, because no one deserves to be treated...
