New management don’t go here, if they treat a $1000 a month client like this, they will treat you the same. 0 accountability with new management!

I have frequented Nails of America at Tanglewood in Houston, TX, which recently underwent a change in management following allegations of fraud by the previous management. Regrettably, the quality of service has notably declined under the new management. Pedicure sessions have been notably expedited, resulting in unsatisfactory outcomes. During my recent visit, I experienced a distressing incident where the nail technician mistakenly caused bleeding by inadvertently using a needle drill under my nail bed. Despite my concerns, the manager attempted to appease the situation by offering a standard 10% discount, a gesture already in their regular practice.

Not only were my nails poorly executed, but the desired nail color was unavailable, and the application process was overly forceful, leading to damage to my natural nail bed. The staff, including the employees who remain post-scandal, share sentiments of discontent, highlighting a discernible decline in overall service standards.

The new management's lack of accountability and the prevailing atmosphere of fear among employees to voice concerns are concerning indicators. As a business proprietor myself, I understand the weight of maintaining customer loyalty and the significance of consistent quality. Despite claims of past impropriety by the former management, the operational excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction were unmistakable.

I caution prospective clients to carefully consider their patronage at this establishment due to the observed decline in service quality, lack of accountability, and diminishing talent. It is prudent to seek alternative venues that prioritize customer care and uphold superior...

I normally don’t write negative reviews because I really do appreciate the work that goes into personal services like nails, but I felt like I had to share my experience after what happened.

This was my second time visiting this salon. My first visit wasn’t bad, so I decided to return to have my builder gel (originally done at a different salon) removed. I mentioned to the nail tech at the beginning that I was really concerned about over-drilling because I didn’t want to damage my natural nails. My nails are naturally very strong and long—people often think I’m wearing acrylics when I’m not—so I take good care of them.

Unfortunately, it felt like she was rushing the entire process. She used the drill heavily, and even though I was hesitant, I trusted her because I’m not a nail expert. Once she finished, it felt like she was rushing me because she was already cleaning up the station. I barely had a chance to look at my nails before heading out. It wasn’t until I got back to my car that I realized just how damaged my nails were.

My nails were visibly broken, painfully thinned out, and unevenly filed and cut. There was even leftover gel still on some of my nails. My nail beds were so red and sensitive that even opening a soda can hurt. That’s how badly they were over-drilled.

I called the salon the same day to speak with a manager and was told someone would follow up with me. It’s now Tuesday (I had them done on Saturday), and I still haven’t received a call back.

I really tried to be patient and give the benefit of the doubt, but this experience was unacceptable—especially since I’m now dealing with physical pain and long-term damage to my natural nails. I’m sharing this in hopes of helping others avoid a...

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!!! Zooey was EXTREMELY rude!!! My friend and I were APPALLED at her behavior. I asked for the basic on my finger nails…tips with color dip powder, & almond shape. My friend got the EXACT same with Leo and he was so kind and lovely and provided a great service. I asked for EXACTLY what my friend got, what’s wrong with that?! Instead of just doing what I politely requested for my nails, Zooey tried to force me to do acrylic, then she tried to force me to do clear power with shellac on top, then she tried to force me back into acrylic, then she tried to up-charge me $10 for “shape” & an additional $10 for “tips” that they glue on. I responded to her 6 times by simply saying, “Can I please just get the exact same thing as my friend”? She was SO ANGRY! She was truly bullying me!! I have never been treated so horribly. I am 34 years old, height 5’2”, size Small — I have regular hands and normal nails and Zooey was trying to up-charge me $20 for services that are included and listed in the $55 total charge for a regular basic manicure (the basic manicure being = Tips + Color Dipping Powder). Zooey tried to charge me for shape and tips and both of those items are listed as “included” for a regular manicure with tips + color dipping powder. My friend got exactly what I got, but she was NOT up-charged like I was. We both had the exact same nails when we entered the salon so this was truly unethical and BAFFLING!! Zooey exhibited the MOST HORRID behavior towards me. I still feel so offended and I am just so upset!! DO...

I regularly go to another Nails of America. But I had an eye appointment in the same parking lot, and needed my nails and feet done so I decided to give this location a try. The ladies knew it was my first time in their shop. The staff was nice, the technicians were nice, and the Pina Colada drink was yummy. It was a little loud but I didn't mind. I know the area is nice - but I thought the prices would be the same as all Nails of America - but it was not. On the paper I saw the pedicure price, and the refill price - and I was fine with that. I planned to leave a tip as well. At checkout the rep added $5 for length, and $5 for filing. I am a nail tech, though not practicing, and have been getting my nails done for over 35 years. I do not have long nails, and my shape is a regular round nail. Filing is part of the refill service. If you are going to add fees tell the customer in the beginning of the appointment. I felt taken advantage of, and I would have preferred to give the techs the money in more of a tip. I also questioned the tip process and I hope both ladies received the tip. Normally reps take cash out the register after I sign the credit card slip, and give the ladies their tip. I was told it would be done through the computer. The technician who did my pedicure was very nice, and she did a good job. The technician who did my nails also did a good job. She said I need a new full set at my next appointment, and I don't agree with that - but she still did a good job.
