Piola Houston Memorial — Restaurant in Houston

We went to Piola on Voss on July 18, 2025, at 7:30 PM. The atmosphere had a good vibe — colorful, modern, and welcoming. The restaurant is tucked into the corner of a shopping center, and there was plenty of parking.

The menu was nice to hold — very pretty and well-styled, though the font was a bit crowded. There were many pizzas to choose from. The logo is classic and clean, although one person in our group couldn’t tell what it was supposed to be. The space was clean and tidy. Service was friendly, attentive, and very personable. The restrooms were single-stall (not our favorite), but fine. One diner especially liked the fun yellow tile.

The food: We ordered the Quattro Formaggi, Diavola (spicy pepperoni), Carneveggio (prosciutto, basil, and mozzarella), and Bologna (mortadella, mozzarella, and pistachio). The crust was thin and toasty with the perfect crunch. The sauce was light but flavorful, and the toppings were incredibly fresh and delicious.

As an appetizer, we had the calamari and it was delicate and crispy.

Drinks came quickly and were refreshing. We tried a Caipirinha, Aperol Spritz, Birra Moretti, and a pineapple mint — all delicious. Sodas were canned.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The owner and Manager of this place were very rude and disrespectful. My friend ordered a dish and didn’t like when she got it and couldn’t eat it. She asked if she can get something else, the Manager had an attitude and asked if she wants to take it home because they cant resell it.( she couldn’t eat it at the restaurant why would she take it) They made her another one and when we got the bill they have charged the dish and took a small discount of it at the end. When I asked why they did that the wife of owner answered who is going to pay for it? You want me to pay for it? I said but u took it back it was returned she said well I cant sell it and who is going to pay for it!!!! And went on and on with being very insulting to us.

This was the worst experience by far. Not to mention the deceiving menu for my dish that I couldn’t eat but didn’t say anything about it. It said sautéed chicken when I got old smelly pulled chicken instead with a lumpy sauce. So disgusting food and horrible...

Piola Pizza 06/10/2025! Geez! I stopped by this location for the first time, hoping for the same refreshing hospitality and delicious pizza I’m accustomed to at the Houston Midtown location. Unfortunately, I was met with a cold inhospitality by the host and my waiter. I politely ordered a Carne & Co pizza, a can of Guarana and a lime caipirinha. My drinks and meal are brought out to my table! No word spoken! During my entire time in the restaurant, neither the host nor the waiter checked on me. Not a word! I politely asked for some extra spicy honey twice and was served! Still not a word /check in. But both the host and my waiter checked on all the other customers with smiles, and friendly conversation. I asked for my check. It was served with a thank you! I paid and still, not a word from either of them. I walked out! I felt like I went through a time capsule and walked in to restaurant that didn't like to serve black folks or just one run by a bunch of ill-mannered individuals! No Hospitality! No warmth!
