Now that I’ve finally stopped crying (it’s been 2 months) I can finally make my review. I go in for a week silk press and my dead ends cut. I don’t have a specific hair dresser so I got who they gave me. I get a short Indian lady (I can’t remember her name). I walk in and I’m talking to her and asked her if she’s done natural hair before. She says she’s done 3 people’s heads (that’s where I messed up) I should have gotten out of the chair at that moment. After she washes my hair she grabs the scissors. I stopped her and suggested she blow my hair out first. She declined and said it’s better for her to cut it while it’s wet. Again, I should have gotten out of her chair but I, like dummy, trusted her. Half way through cutting my hair she asked if the length was okay .... it’s a little too late to be asking that. I looked down and MORE THAN DEAD ENDS IS ON THE FLOOR. I start crying and asked for someone else. I personally have learned my lesson which was:one, don’t let everyone and just any one touch my hair; two, ask for proof that you can do what you claim; and three, it’s okay to jump out of a stylist seat to ask for a experienced stylist. The stylist that did my hair also needs to learn that IF YOU DONT SPECIALIZE IN A CERTAIN HAIR TYPE YOU SHOULDN’T TAKE THAT CUSTOMER! Below: before and when I got out of her chair (I was ugly and crying)

Do NOT book with Lucy Simpson. I came in for a 2 inch trim, layers, and hair thinning. Lucy didnt realize she cut 7 INCHES OFF. Im not sure why she is considered a ā€œmaster stylistā€ this lady doesnt know the difference between 1-7 inches. She didnt even give me layers or thin out my hair. Lucy literally did a freestyle on my head for some reason. when she washed my hair, it was a bad experience as well. I obviously did not pay a dime for it, but its not about the money. It took me a long time to grow out my hair and for LUCY to cut 7 inches without noticing is crazy. The manager Latorcsha, did try her best to make things better by giving me a $200 gift card but to be honest that did absolutely nothing for someone who took 5 years to grow out their hair just to get $200. I just wanted 2 inches off but i ended up leaving traumatized and left with nothing I wanted. This salon also has zero diversity which is disappointing because everyone has different hair and i never took that into consideration until i went...

I want to thank Miriam for helping me today. Miriam went above and beyond to rectify my experience today. I scheduled an appointment online with a stylist, Aby, at Meyerland JcPenny salon. Aby canceled my appointment without informing me. Aby stated that she did not know how to use clippers. She then asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and if I had a picture. I wore my hair in a pixie cut and wanted a simple clean-up. She asked me when was my last relaxer and did I put my color because my hair was green. She then insinuated if I didn’t want her to do my hair, she could pass me to another stylist. It was clear to me she did not want to do my hair. I informed her that I would prefer another stylist, and then Miriam stated she could do my hair. I appreciate Miriam's professionalism. She educated me on the products that I should and should not use. As Miriam began to cut my hair, I felt at ease after that unprofessional conversation. I highly recommend Miriam; she is a...
