Been going to this place since the 80s. They did not have a dine in then I remember a small window you would knock and the owner would sell you the carne Seca. Last time I went was 2 years ago my mother loved going there for the coffee and the machacada a la mexicana and to just talk to one of the ladies there I believe the owners wife. We would go on Saturdays to try different breakfast but always got the same. Mom is gone now but she would say this is the best real Mexican food all homemade. I think I will go and have a cup of coffee and huevos rancheros with machacada a la mexicana in honor of mom. Besides I always buy a bag of machacada for home. This true authentic carne seca. Yours is a cheap American. All Mexican restaurant in Houston, the food is no good food taste awful. Cooks ain't cooks. So I eat mex.food at home only and eat soul food when I go out. Arandas, Jaliscano# 1,2,3, 4, etc. Gringos, and to top it off service is bad , but, the girls want there tip. This place was a mystery to me for quite sometime due to my route home. When I changed my timing I found this was the origin of the II'd been eating in Spring Branch for almost 30 years. Great family and the best machaca in the Housto n area. I'm going to have to smuggle it now I I'm living in Cuenca, but it is the best machaca around!
