12/11/18 Update: After my below update review my credit card was suspiciously charged by Overhead Garage Door. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. When I called Overhead Garage Doors billing department she said it was weird my account was charged again and had to issue another refund. I asked if she could find out who charged me but she could not find anything but again agreed it was very odd. I do not think it was a random accident my account was charged after a negative update review to the owner.
12-05-18 Update: This is an update to reply to the owner as I can not reply below to his response. Tyson has emailed me to talk about my credit card dispute and I told him to feel free to call me to discuss this review. This was over a week ago with no call back. Per your reply, I gave your company a chance to discuss this review further but with no success. With that being said I would disagree to your comment, “we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers”. If this was true I would have received a call.
Andrew was my sales rep and I really wanted to use this company due to Google reviews... I called around and got a few quotes. This company was not the cheapest but was told they could likely do the job Friday(11/9/18) as my door was/is basically broken. This did not happen. Next day (Monday 11/12/18) my wife took off work as that day was promised since Friday did not happen. I kept getting the usual, "we are trying to get the door". Tuesday (today 11/13/18) the installer called me and said he was getting the door and would install it that day. A few minutes later he called back and said the door was actually for another customer that mine would not be in stock until December 18th. After several calls Andrew finally answered and said he could offer a comparable door (after research it was not comparable) and made the comment that his guy would have to drive an extra 30 minutes to pick it up (I assume to make me feel bad). I am leaving a 1 star review for the lack of communication and for not delivering something that was promised. I am now actively calling other garage door places that have quoted me.
I would like to point out, the installer was very nice every time we communicated...

I’m so disappointed in their “service”. My husband and I were leaving for a weekend getaway in late September when our garage door came completely off the tracks and we couldn’t get it to open or close very well as you can imagine. We called and were super impressed that they were able to get someone out that day before we left town and they told us we needed a new garage door but it would take a couple weeks. No problem we were able to do that.
The first guy who came to our home said that the door was a little small and that there would be a gap between the frame and our door but we could go to Home Depot and buy this strip that would help cover the gap which seemed a little off but that wouldn’t already be included with the amount of money we were spending. Two days later we could no longer get the garage door to open and close.
repair guy was called out (never showed) another one came during a time we said we wouldn’t be available two more guys no showed then another one came after my husband called the manager to complain. He didn’t bring the material to close the gap which the manager said should have been included in the original repair. So he fixed the door, went to the warehouse, fixed another door, and came back to fix the gap.
Here we are in early November and the door won’t close AGAIN. Three days now this week.
My advice, take your business elsewhere because they are...
Read moreThe work was good but the technician overcharged and I simply gave up arguing about it with him. Here’s what happened. I had a broken torsion spring on a heavy door that has 4 springs. I bought two new springs myself and tried replacing them but couldn’t manage on my own. I called out Spectrum. The technician said he could make what I had work for $450. I said to go ahead and also replace one of the other old ones too and he quoted an additional $300 for total of $750. We also agreed to replace a couple of brackets for $85 (a high price for those but I agreed). So the total was $835. He did the calculations on the spring I needed and installed it. After he wound the first two up, he realized he would only need to wind up 3 of the 4 springs and would not need the 4th new one he installed and was charging $300 for. I said if you’re not going to need the 4th then why am I paying for it. He clearly didn’t want to do the work to remove it. We went back and forth and he deducted $85 for the brackets. My main gripe is that the technician is supposed to be the expert. If I didn’t need a 4th spring he should have known that. To be fair, I said I thought the door was 600 lbs. but it turns out it’s lighter I guess. Again that’s something he should have determined. I think the better thing would have been for him to remove the unused spring and charge me for the labor and the new brackets which would have been $535 instead of $750. I do have a new spring up on the tube in case one of the others breaks I guess so the price difference for the value received is...
