My husband and I used to frequent JLB eatery, but the last couple of times we’ve visited the food has been subpar. Sadly, as the quality of food has declined the price has gone up. I recently ordered the Buffalo chicken basket and the fries and meat were unsalted, bland and over cooked. The nail in the coffin were the eyelashes my husband found at the bottom of his fries... we won’t be back. Another note to the wise- skip the desserts. They seem to just be small slices of dessert from Kroger or something that are up-charged and resold. I paid $4 for a slice of cheesecake that was not only the smallest dessert portion I’ve ever received at a restaurant, but also tasted like it was at least a week old (picture attached). I would say it was about an inch thick at the most. Total waste of money. I suggest Pappy’s Cafe instead. It’s down the street and delicious made to order home style food.

Drove 20 mins because they usually are good, first time I ever received a burnt bun and burnt burger from anywhere, took one bite and the bun was like bread crumbs, it was so burnt couldn’t even eat it, whats even worst it was both the crazy burger and cheeseburger, I understand maybe one burger you mess up but both come on, I wanted to drive back but that’s 20 mins there 20 mins back. I feel I should be refunded or next time have free meal for what I paid and didn’t not eat. I will gladly remove this review if I’m refunded or made another meal because usually the food is great.

Today was my first time eating at JLB Eatery, and I thought the food was delicious, fresh, and hot. You get what you pay for because the portion size is huge, and they fill up the plate. I ordered the hamburger, and it roughly a little bigger than my fist, taste-wise it was juicy and full of flavor the bun was excellent, different than your typical hamburger bun. The fries were also hot and fresh, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and soft on the inside. I'd say if you're in the area it's certainly worth stopping by and trying out!

I ordered the Cheeseburger and the 6-piece hotwings with a drink. I paid $25. This was my first time. Positive notes first. This place is about quality. The burger patty was well-seasoned, had a nice crispy skin with a great char flavor. It had plenty of shredded lettuce with the right amount of mayonase, nice, ripe tomatoes sliced just the right thinness. And the bun was well suited to both the size and relative wetness of the burger. As far as taste, it is somewhere between a Whataburger and something you might grill at home. Given the size of the burger, I very much enjoyed it. The wings were hot and well-done, perfectly coated in hot sauce (probably Franks). They tasted great, were very crispy, and pretty large comparatively speaking. I was very full when done and it was more food than what I needed. On the negative side, the beef was just a bit too salty for my taste and although the bun held up very well, the last two or three bites got a bit messy. The wings are heavily battered, which makes for a really nice crunchy texture, but it can be a lot. I found myself picking a lot of it off. Finally, at $10+ for each order, it is just too expensive for what you get. It is definitely a good quality burger and wings, but it's an $8 burger and wings, not $10. Otherwise, it would be a four star rating. I will definitely be going back for the double-cheese and to explore the rest...

First off I'd like to say the bbq burger was VERY good, fries and sweet potato fries were good. Fried catfish was pretty good. But I didn't leave completely satisfied. First, I had a hard time ordering my fish and chips. I asked for Cajun fish and chips 3 piece. And they cashier looked at me like she had no idea what I was saying. I repeated a couple more times and eventually she had me point to a picture on the menu. I specified multiple times I wanted Cajun. I even said spicy.

30 minutes go by and people who have ordered before us have gotten their food long ago and almost finished their meal. I go up to the counter to ask, and the cashier says that our order was never sent to the kitchen. Idk how it's possible to be charged for food and I saw her type it in the system, yet it was never sent to the kitchen. The food was ready 5 minutes after that. However, the salad that came with my fish was just iceberg lettuce and a tomato, no salad dressing. There was also no sauce for the fish, and the fish weren't Cajun, just regular.

I've heard great things about this place and I just hope it was a fluke day. I think I would just stick to the burgers from now on. Our burger...

The ambiance and customer service were amazing! It was very clean and I really appreciate how the drink station was organized and wasn’t a sticky mess. I also think they are a Christian restaurant, because they had some pictures of Jesus on the wall, which I loved!! I’ve been twice and I ordered two different things on the menu. The portions were good too, I think I got my money’s worth in terms of quantity.

I had their regular cheeseburger and their Cajun wings. They were honestly ok. I feel the only thing that’s missing from both is more seasoning. I really like how crunchy the wings were, but the flavor wasn’t there in the meat nor in the batter they coat it with. The curly fries were good though!

As for the burger, they didn’t skimp on the meat, but it also wasn’t too much meat, which I personally like. It was a good balance between bun, meat, and other toppings. Their regular fries aren’t anything special. I would say that they could add maybe some season salt to jazz them up a bit.

All in all, I think they definitely have potential...
