Rock'em Western Boots & Apparel — Local services in Houston

I’ve gone here a few times to get my felt hat reshaped and shop around the store so I’ve had my fair share of experiences with Rock ‘Em. For starters, they can’t shape hats to save their lives. Multiple people have shaped it and they just can’t. The first time I went I assumed the person just didn’t know so I went a second time. Two people had to “shape” it and even then it still came out lopsided. I had to go to a different hat shaper to get it fixed.

Aside from that, they are way overpriced on products. Felt hats that you can buy at Cavenders or Boot Barn for $80-$90 are over double the price here. Most of the boots aren’t even real exotic leather or normal leather. The clothing is also extremely cheap for the price you’re paying.

If you’re looking for true western wear there are many other locally owned stores in the Houston area or just stick to Cavenders and Boot Barn. Don’t buy into this place just for the hype. At least at other places you’ll know the quality...

Rock’em is truly a gem! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Andres (owner) and Mr. and Mrs. Chavez, who made the entire experience unforgettable. They were incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and offering thoughtful suggestions that helped us find exactly what we needed—and more!

The store itself is beautifully organized, with a fantastic selection of high-quality western wear and gear. But what truly sets Rock’em apart is the amazing customer service. Mr. and Mrs. Chavez genuinely care about their customers and go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy.

To put it simply, they are the Chick-fil-A of customer service in retail. I flew from Atlanta just to come to this store to get my accessories for the Cowboy Carter concert and the Dukes and Boots festival which are back to back. I didn't really know what I wanted but Miguel who personally assisted me was beyond amazing. He listened to my desires for my outfit and immediately started pulling pieces for me. The selection of hats, boots, and belts are EVERYTHING!!!! Everywhere I turned someone was asking to help me. Don't even get me started on the customizations. They stretched my boots (for my wide long feet) and made it so I don't have to suffer breaking them in. Ricardo customized my hats and I almost cried. He changed the shapes the way I wanted them and gave my tyrant hat some charred flare. 10 out of 10, absolutely...
