Salon 168 — Local services in Houston

My friend and I booked appts requesting a body wave and showed pictures. We were a little anxious because we weren’t sure if they understood our request. They kept correcting us saying it’s a perm. So we asked in 10 different ways whether or not they understood what we wanted and if our end result would be like the photo. Both stylist kept saying how we would still need to use product and blow dry our hair but they could get us the body wave we were looking for. When I saw the tiny rollers they were using, I asked if this was the right size bc the body wave diameter is much larger. They said it’s the correct size to get the body wave and they can’t go any larger (even though I saw larger rollers that would achieve the look). When she took the rollers out, I looked like a poodle who was adopted by hermoine granger that electrocuted herself resulting in a ramen noodle mop on her head. To top it off, their online pricelist showed $80-100 for long hair. They charged us $180 and said that they didn’t tell us how much it was bc “everyone knows their pricing.” They even threw out the “well we curled your hair with the curling iron so it’s additional costs, when they were the one that asked us if we wanted to curl our hair misleading us to think it was all inclusive and apart of the package. Don’t go here. Stylists are misleading, they don’t follow requests, and they don’t care about what you want, they do what they want and they just want your money. I’ve been going to Salon 168, located in Viet Hoa Supermarket, for the past six years, and it remains one of my top choices for haircuts, even for a simple trim. My hairstylist, Vivian, is truly an expert when it comes to cutting women’s hair. Whether my hair is long or short, she trims it to perfection every time. She’s especially great at creating bangs that match my changing needs, and no matter the style, Vivian knows how to tailor the cut to fit my face structure beautifully.

Recently, I decided to go shorter, and she styled it perfectly, making sure it complemented my look. The only downside is that it can be a little difficult to book an appointment with her, so it’s best to plan ahead. I scheduled an appointment three days in advance with the owner, who has been cutting my hair for years.I arrived on time only for Vivian to tell me "I can't do your hair, I am busy! You have to sit and wait for someone else to cut your hair!" as she stormed out of the salon. A new employee offered to cut my hair. I sat down and a few minutes later Vivian came back with an older man. She proceeded to cut his hair. While I was getting my hair cut she did 2 men's haircuts.
