I had a very disappointing experience with Six Ping, and I regret to say that I will not be ordering from them again. My family and I used to enjoy their pastries, but the service we received recently was unacceptable.
We ordered a large pandan cake with durian for my uncle's birthday. When my aunt went to pick it up, the cake was in terrible condition; there were cracks all over the frosting. The staff member explained that the decorated fruits were too heavy, which caused the cracks. This is simply unacceptable for a cake that was specifically made for a birthday celebration.
What frustrated me the most was when the staff suggested that my aunt take the cake to their Dun Huang Plaza location to have it fixed. It’s baffling that they would offer a product that they clearly didn’t know how to execute properly. It was as if they expected us to have all the time in the world to sort out their mistake. They should have taken responsibility for their error, not passed it off to the customer.
Additionally, the staff claimed that the cake was prepared the night before, which means they had plenty of time to correct any issues before it was handed off. Instead, they presented a damaged cake and took our money without a second thought. It seems like they believe they can provide subpar customer service because their primary clientele is mainly non-English speaking Asian Americans, but they are sorely mistaken.
There are plenty of other bakeries in Houston, like 85 Degrees and Paris Baguette, that offer much better quality and service. I would recommend everyone to avoid Six Ping if you want a cake that is worth your money. They clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction or the quality...
Read moreDecided to come to this location so my son can pick a cake, walked in and the cashier "looked busy" doing whatever. So we started picking a cake and waited for her to finish and acknowledge us, then another lady came in and stood next to me looking at the cake too. Then the girl came over and that lady started speaking to the girl and they started picking out a cake, BEFORE US! I looked at the girl and was going to tell her but she was already deep conversation with the lady about writing on the cake. So I was going to let it slide, but then this guy came in and the lady from the back ran out and immediately helped him out too, totally ignoring me, my son and my husband. We walked out and before I walked out I let the second lady know that I CAME FIRST! Guess what, cashier still in the back no acknowledgement of her coming back to help. I may not look viet but I am and was disappointed in the customer service from both workers who helped the 2 customers who looked more Asian than I do. I will continue my business at the...
Read moreI haven’t been by any of the six ping locations for 2 years now because of the previous very bad experience of their custard buns. But yesterday my sister convinced me to give them a try again, sadly it wasn’t working as like how it happened before, the custard buns, the milk buns were huge disappointment. The outer layers were dry, the custard filing was nowhere to be found as it was so little, all it was just dough and more dough. Each bun is $2.50, I’m going to be very honest here that 85 degrees got way better custard buns than here and they’re only $2.10, at least their bakery goods aren’t disappointing. No one can convince me to ever come...
