My recent stay at Comfort Suites off Beltway 8 & Beechnut was a mixed bag of experiences, with both positive aspects and significant disappointments. While there were numerous issues, it's important to acknowledge the positive elements as well.
On the upside, the visibility of my car from the room's window provided a sense of security and convenience. It's always reassuring to be able to keep an eye on your vehicle, especially when staying in unfamiliar surroundings.
The room was equipped with several useful amenities, including a safe for securing valuables, an iron and ironing board, which are essential for travelers needing to freshen up their attire. The spaciousness of the room was a plus, featuring a couch that converted into a bed, offering additional sleeping space which could be particularly beneficial for families or groups.
However, these positives were overshadowed by several negative experiences. The front desk staff's insistence on a hefty $200 deposit was both unexpected and inconsistently applied. The safety concern with the television precariously hanging by a nail was alarming. Additionally, discovering a used condom wrapper and other trash under the TV stand was unsettling and raised serious questions about the thoroughness of the cleaning process.
The attitude of the front desk staff was also a point of contention. Their excessive interest in the number of people in my party came across as intrusive. While it's understandable that hotels need to manage room occupancy for various reasons, the manner in which this was handled felt overly inquisitive and somewhat unwelcoming.
In summary, while there were commendable aspects like room amenities and the spaciousness of the accommodation, my stay at Comfort Suites off Beltway 8 & Beechnut was marred by several significant issues. These ranged from safety hazards to cleanliness concerns, and an overall sense of unwelcoming service from the staff. Future guests should weigh these factors carefully when considering a stay at this location.
During my check-in at Comfort Suites off Beltway 8 & Beechnut, I informed the front desk staff, specifically the individual who seemed to be in charge, that I would be checking out early. This was acknowledged without issue. However, upon my early check-out, I faced a frustrating and unacceptable situation regarding the return of my $200 cash deposit. The front desk staff member informed me that I would have to wait until the next morning to get my deposit back. This was not only inconvenient but also completely unexpected, as there was no mention of this condition when I checked in. The lack of communication and the apparent disregard for my schedule, especially since I needed to be in Austin, was highly unprofessional. This situation gave the impression that the staff member was exerting unnecessary control over my funds, which added a layer of dissatisfaction to my already troubled experience at the hotel.
My experience at Comfort Suites off Beltway 8 & Beechnut was so disheartening that I only spent a total of 5 hours there and have firmly decided never to return. The entire stay left nothing to be desired. From the moment I checked in and encountered the issues with the deposit, to the concerning safety hazards in my room, every aspect of my brief visit was fraught with disappointment. The lack of professionalism and the sheer inconvenience of being told I couldn't retrieve my $200 cash deposit until the next morning, despite my early departure, was the final straw. This experience has firmly cemented my decision to avoid this hotel...
Read moreIn response to your response, I have contacted Choice Hotels and made a complaint. My trained service animal made no damages. I will be contacting the Tx Department of Insurance in regards to your hotel policy of requiring service animal documentation as that is against the law. Your actions appear to be discriminatory against people with disabilities as you’ve indicated you are not pet friendly and it appears you are acting in a way to deter a future stay. I had to cancel my debit card as I was charged $100 dollars and another $100 dollars and another $150 on Sunday and an additional $50 on Monday. I don’t believe you guys were going to stop charging my card. I am disputing this and will follow up with Choice since you don’t appear to be rectifying the matter. I wonder if you even hold a license to sell vapes at the registration counter. I have NEVER seen another Comfort Inn sell vapes at the front desk. This will not stop here as $600 dollars is a huge amount in Unauthorized transactions for bogus alleged damages. I am also STILL waiting for a copy of your hotel policy regarding service animals and a copy of your hotel Policy regarding damages and the name of your hotel manager. But I suppose the name may be available via the Texas Secretary of State. I have also tried calling the hotel as you indicated and I was referred to email. I have not received a response to the last email. I have made requests for documentation 4 times in writing. It’s obvious your concern is ingenuine.
Total ripoff. I was charged a $98.46 reservation fee which was not deducted from the price of my stay. I was charged $100 deposit for incidentals that I am not so sure I will be getting back. The price of my room was $88.00/ night which with taxes and other fees came out to $211.00 and some change. I called ahead of time to give them courtesy notice that I was taking my service pet for which they requested proof and/ or documentation which, by FEDERAL and STATE law they are not supposed to ask for. When I checked out I found they charged me 3 separate charges totaling an additional $350 aside from the deposit because my 8 pound service animal supposedly left feces ALL over the carpet which was untrue and possibly Impossible for her size and breed. All of this unexpected expense left me broke and stranded in the middle of TEXAS. The carpet in the room had stains all over the place when I checked in and I guess they took advantage of the “NOT A PET FRIENDLY” policy to pin their dirty carpet on my trained service animal. Upon request for copies of the paperwork I signed, copy of hotel policies regarding damages and service animals, they have yet to provide what I asked for. In addition, the elevator down button on the second floor was hanging by a wire, the air was musty and there was obvious illicit activity going on so if you’re booking for a family you may want to pass on this location. I thought the 2 night stay would cost me $211 but it actually costed a total of close to $760. I was totally ROBBED. The only decent thing was the free breakfast and that’s because I am not a...
Read moreThese people will nickel and dime you to death! I had a room booked for one night. The next morning around 5am I booked another night. I do IT Support for large corporations so I usually work throughout the night and go to sleep early in the morning. Around 5:30am the following morning I received a phone call in the room. I was told by this representative at the front desk that I needed to checkout by 11am. I explained to him that I worked throughout the night and I paid for the room for one more night. The room I paid for for the second night was the exact same room as the first night that I stayed in so basically I could have been left there with no problem. I didn't ask for room service but the representative at the front desk told me that in order for me to stay I would have to pay him $40? I just paid $40 for the second night and now he wanted me to pay $40 to stay in my room from 11:00 until 3:00 p.m. with no room service. I would have left normally but I have stayed up and worked all night and I needed rest really bad because I wasn't even done. Before it was over with I got him down to $20 which was still wrong in my personal opinion to charge someone for a room with no room service who paid for two nights. This location is also extremely bad about returning your deposits. You are required to pay a $100 deposit for anything that you might do to damage the room and they charge you and then it stays in pending for 14 days. So while we're on this subject about a month before this I had fraud on my bank account and I ended up canceling all my credit cards and my bank account information was all redone as well It was straight up fraud and they got most of my information so I know that's how it came off the computer If you don't have the $100 deposit on a credit card they will take $200 cash. But you're going to have to pay a deposit to get your room even if you don't have it! You still have to pay in order to stay I explained my situation to the representative who basically blew me off and told me that I would not be staying there until I paid the deposit. It doesn't say anywhere that I saw it's got to be in some fine print somewhere that you have to pay a deposit because it's not very visible anywhere on the website, on the app. Iuf6yt5 nothing but when you show up there there's some disclaimer at the bottom of the app that says if they charge you some external fees you'd have to pay them in order to get your room So I guess they're in the right but, it just seems kind of shady not to really share that information with you blatantly! They let you book a room and then you can't even get your room if you don't have the $100 deposit with a credit card or debit card or you can pay in cash for $200 but anyway you shake a stick at it This is simply wrong! Can I live with $100 tied up for 14 days yes but what I don't like is when I look at my credit card and my debit card either way and there's four charges for $400 all single $100 processed...
