Store #541
I rarely write reviews. But, this HEB is really starting to wear me out. If not for a handful of bad experiences and some regular inconveniences, I would have given it four stars.
We probably spend about $650 a month at this store ā about two thirds of our grocery expenditures. Thatās a lot of money to pay HEB compared to all of are other bills ā mortgage included. I am just saying that a lot of my money goes to HEB store #541 and I donāt think that the management at that store understands that.
We have been shopping there since we moved into the neighborhood a year and a half ago.
Obviously we like it better than Fiesta and Food Town ā where we spend the last third. We never shop at Walmart.
At this store, one haves a 50% chance of getting a bagger. Itās rather irritating when you have a $200 cart of groceries -- that you have to bag yourself -- when there is a bagger at the ā15 item or lessā lane.
When you do get a bagger, there is a 5% chance that you will not have all of what you paid for when you unpack at home. I can confidently say that itās happened to me three times ā usually not worth the hassle of going back (It also makes me wonder how much else I have paid for that was not bagged.) Anyway, one of which was a $12.00 package of smoked salmon. For that, I did go back. After a half an hour, the manager insisted that it was bagged and basically called me a lair. Thatās where I emphasize that the management team at store #541 is clueless as to how much money they get from their regular shoppers and have no grasp for quality customer service. She should have simply told me to go grab another one.
The last straw was tonight. Another $200 cart of groceries. There were 12 lanes open. I am waiting in line and notice that my register does not have a bagger. I see the check-out manager and say, āHello, can you make sure I get a bagger.ā He says he is understaffed tonight and walks away. After unloading my cart, I look around, and there is not one single bagger at any of the 12 lanes. At this point and after the check-out managerās rude reply and my previous bad experience with this storeās management, I figured I should take a photo of the line to document the bagger problem should I get the urge to write a letter to HQ. (On the rare occasion I get in that mood, the mood usually goes away after I get home. I normally donāt take the time to write a letter). I took a photo.
So, Emir is checking us out. He gets hung up on a two pound pack of hamburger. After about three voids and 5 minutes he figures it out and he moves on. (All the while, my kids and I are bagging the groceries.)
I give him a store coupon for sardines. Buy two get the third free. They are $0.88 each and I bought six. He canāt get the coupon to work. He does what he does and the register show āBig Savingsā of $0.95. I say that should be $1.76.
A manager walks up. I am thinking he is concerned with the lack of baggers, excessive voids, and the coupon issue. I explain the math. To my dismay, he shrugs off the coupon issue.
His concern: my taking a photo of the check-out line. He told me that I cannot take photos in HEB. He demanded that I delete the photos.
Is Store #541 that insecure and poorly managed? Or, is HEB an overall incompetent corporation that cannot train its store-level management?
I am incensed that an HEB manager approached me about my taking a photo in a privately owned, public space and demanded that I delete a photograph from my phone. HEB managers are not cop nor do they have the right to intimidate customers. This is a civil...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThanks to this service manager Ann, this H-E-B STORE IS THE WORST GROCERY store I EVER been through and she is the worst service manager I ever dealt with.
This is the very first review I ever write in the past 18 years. Iāve just had the worst experience ever at this H-E-B STORE. The service department manager Ann is uncooperative and unreasonable. The worst grocery store manager I ever dealt with. I got the $10 off $30 coupon that is still through today 6/19. Iāve just spent 2 hours at This H-E-B store to gather enough stuffs to meet the price requirements. There was a long line and only 1 register open. When itās my turn at the check out line, they dishonor my coupon using the excuse that the clock hit midnight. My purchase is over $89 of all baby and personal care products. I CAME TO THIS H-E-B STORE BEFORE 10 pm of 6/19/2018 and did not leave the store at all until I get mistreated at the checkout line by Ann. So I met all the requirements of what was stated on the coupon. There was nothing stated on the coupon that it will be rejected and dishonor as soon as the clock hit midnight.
I felt tricked and ripped off so I ask the manager Ann for her employee number so I can file a complaint with the H-E-B corporate office and she refused to give it out. I then ask for phone number of the corporate office so I can file complain and she says then tear a small piece of H-E-B receipts and tell me to call the phone number on there. I ask her if itās the corporate office and she said no. She responds that she do not know the corporate office number and tells me to call the store or come to the store again tomorrow if I want the corporate officeās phone number . I asked her to her name down on that piece of paper and she also said āNO. My name is Ann. You donāt need my employee number and I donāt have one. Iām the one Ann in the store. Iām not going to write my name down. You can do it if you want. I can give you the pen to write down. Iām not going to write it.ā
So after wasting 2+ hours trying to shop and purchase, I was wrongfully got forbid using my coupon, which I had to spent over $100 to obtain it a few weeks ago. Then she refused to give me access to the H-E-B corporate officeās contact information, and everything is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe reason I love this place is because and I shop there since day is open the prices are super cheap than any HEB even though Central Markets fruit has lot more variety and it looks much better and fresher but the one on Beechnut at HEB it's always crowded but it depends on the time that you go there be going early in the morning is not as bad as parking I love the prices I love the sales but I wish that they don't use too much coupon and just computer in the computer instead of going through all that trouble and it will save money not printing those coupon especially if they already on sale on the newspaper I love the way HEB give you free stuff when you buy certain products not like other grocery store that does not give you this opportunity I do have to admit it is better of getting free stuff and noticed that some other grocery store are starting to copy HEB just to get the business but they don't do as much as HEB you get to Save-A-Lot of money and I also love free samples your taste all different kind of food but not as much as Central Market Central Market Houston better it's a very upscale place a lot of HEB has change which they have a chef in the middle of the whole HEB grocery store and allow you to taste test whatever the chef will cook and wine Test too too bad this one don't have a chef because once you taste the food they cook a course to give you recipe and you want to cook it at home and you will buy their product what they trying to advertise :-)! It is very crowded especially on weekends but they need to open a lot of Register so we can do our daily activities especially when it's our day off of work and go on with my day instead of wasting time standing in line it's our food we get spoiled especially if you buy ice cream and milk and dairy product and meat and what's even worst chicken especially during summer time or...
