I took my family to dine here earlier this evening as a celebration to the start of a new semester for the two freshman in our family. We arrived to a half empty restaurant and had to wait about 5 minutes to be greeted and then seated (not abnormal). A young lady came and took our drink orders and returned swiftly as we had yet to decide what we wanted to eat. When we were ready, maybe about 5 minutes later, it took about ten more minutes for the waitress to return.
We were originally going to order crawfish when she informed us that it was frozen, so we opted out. However when we ordered 1lb of shrimp and 6lbs of snow crab, she failed to mention that the shrimp and crab were also frozen. Absolutely nothing is worse than trying to eat crab clusters hot boil style as the shells don't break well and the meat essentially crumbles. When i first got them, I figured they were either extremely overcooked or old, so I asked another waiter who informed me that they were in fact frozen but stated "the kitchen cooks them and freezes them, then reheats them in new water. Since shrimp and crab are ordered more frequently it is much fresher than the crawfish which is really old."
I was trying to give a local business a try but we should've stuck with Shell Shack. I gave two stars because the environment was nice and the house flavor was good but they charge market prices for freezer food. The service was terrible, there seemed to be 3 wait staff for about 75 people. No apparent management, unless the guy in the gray t-shirt who popped out of the kitchen to talk to the waiters was the man in charge. I use to work in the service industry (waitress/bartender/manager), so I am much more patient than the average customer but the experience was terrible. You might have to wait a little longer at Shell Shack and pay a little more but you at least know that it's fresh seafood.

Read moreTerrible EXPERIENCE! I had to rate it a 1 star only because of the current management here. My husband (an upstanding Deputy Officer) and I waited patiently for over 1 hour (7:50p- 9p)to be seated. When we were finally called to be seated, we were stopped and told that the manager(Quoc Troung) said we couldn't be served because we were banned by him. We were shocked and appalled and questioned why? For what reason! We had dined here last weekend and had the BEST server and service ever, which is why we have been patrons for years now. We strongly feel like we were wrongly discriminated against and have been coming to this location for over 10 years. The new attending officer was called over and unfortunately sided with the guy. He went on to say that he has the right not to serve us. Well, we are highly respected, respectful paying customers and I think it's racial and situational and I don't feel that the bad mood/bad judgment of 1 person should warrant the banning of good customers. It's not right and we want justice! Yes, we CAN go and eat somewhere else(and did), however we haven't done anything wrong and the staff can attest to that. We have seen staff and managers come and go here and never have we been so disrespected and mistreated. He attacked our character, lied on us, and took a photo of us without our consent. Treating us like criminals all because he could(his words). He pulled a "Karen" move. The officer advised us to bring this issue to the attention of the owner of this establishment but refused to provide us with any company contact information. He advised that this was civil matter and we will NOT let this go. We will pursue justice. It's the principle. We were the only African Americans there then and tonight. I'm wondering now, if this type of discriminationatory behavior is why. People of...
Read moreWe really like the Fisherman's food but unfortunately today 10/14/18 3:00pm) they lost Customers.
Today as at other times we arrived at the restaurant with our 3 year old boy, a picky eater. Our son does not eat in all places or all kinds of food, although we have always tried to give him everything. Although it has varied quite a bit its menu is still very selective to eat. Usually when we go to eat at places where we know that we will not eat anything we buy something somewhere else so that he can eat too, ho was no Exception. We arrived at the restaurant and were going to milk the apparently manager on duty so not very friendly told us they didn't allow food from somewhere else. My husband and I explained to him that he was a picky eater and that he didn't eat anything from the Place. Who responded that they sold chicken nuggets and told him that he did not eat chicken nuggets so we brought a cheese burger and even ordenaríamos drink for him to what in a very arrogant tone responded that if he wanted to go outside and give the food to n Iño outside and then enter (he is not a dog, is a child of 3 years) obviously outside there are no tables to feed, to which we said that if that was the only alternative that then we preferred to Leave.
We understand the policy of not accepting food from outside to promote sales of their products, which is why we had no drink or potatoes as that if they sold There. Totally illogical to lose customers and money with such an arrogant attitude and little empathy with Customers. Customers who at least spend approximately $60.00 and do not buy in the place child food that may cost about 7.00 prefer to lose customers.
It was our favorite Restaurant. But unfortunately for the attitude and treatment they gave us today lost...
