Just your standard Sleezy Sprint Store. The reps are dishonest and will try to push "discounts" on you, but do not mention that your access fees will be raised because of the discount, resulting in you paying more overall. If you buy a discounted phone from any Sprint Store (or any carrier), make sure you ask if it will affect your access fees.
They are also slow. It took me 2 visits each approximately 1.5 hours each to pick up a phone I had purchased online. This is because in my first visit, the rep told me that I could not take the phone because my ID scan did not work. I specifically asked her if I could log in with my PIN. She insisted that I could not, and told me I had to add my ID to the account through customer service, which usually takes several business days. After following her instructions, I returned to the store, and my ID scan failed again! It was OK though, because the new rep told me "its ok! you can log in with your PIN!" That made me a bit angry, since I had specifically asked the previous rep if I could do that and she had said no.
Now, you might think the new rep did a good job (I think his name was Byron). I left the store thinking he had. It only took him about 50 min to set up my phone (I did not need my contacts or data transferred, but 50 min is pretty fast for a Sprint Store in my experience!). I have been enjoying my new phone for a few days, only to see a charge appear on my account for Total Equipment Protection. I remember being asked in the store whether I wanted that and I definitely said NO....
The funniest part of all is that this is the second time that I have purchased a phone from here, been asked about and refused Total Equipment Protection, only to see it added to my account after I had left! And the best part is that since I had technically received these services I was unable to receive a refund for the one month I had paid!
Dealing with this Sleezy Sprint Store, and others like it, has taught me a lot about the weird world of phone contracts in America! Just look up "subsidized phone charges," and you'll learn a lot about how predatory these mobile phone companies can be!
Oh well, they are the cheapest major carrier for a reason. I sure got what I paid for!
UPDATE: Looking more into the TEP which was added to my account, I saw that there was a document signing me up for it, with MY FORGED SIGNATURE ON IT. The time stamp for my forged signature was over 6 hours after I had left the store. I returned, and fortunately was able to get a full refund for these illegal charges. THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED FRAUD AND FORGERY. I have reported them to the FTC and FCC, and if you received unwanted charges on your account I suggest you do the same.
UPDATE 2: Despite their claims that the charges had been removed, when I received my next bill I was still being charged for it. This is absolutely illegal and unforgivable, so I will be taking legal action.
DO NOT USE SPRINT THERE IS NO REASON TO. DISCOUNT CARRIERS OFFER BETTER SERVICE AND NETWORKS FOR CHEAPER. And, as my story describes here, they are willing to commit fraud to...
Read moreThe service I received was horrible! I asked for a manager and was given a business card and emailed the store manager, received a reply, then wait.....she walked over to me....Yes, she was in the store the whole time I was having an issue and never walked over to assist me. After I emailed her she helped me and got everything solved, after me being in the store complaining for over an hour. Then the guy who fixed my phone intentionally did my repair last....I had a ticket that said me phone would be ready at 4pm and came back at 5 and he told me another hour, so I came back at 6 and he told me 15 minutes later...it took another 25! I have been with Sprint since 1999 and my bill is 500+ a month....I don't like change so that's why I keep staying but today, I was embarrassed, treated like I didn't matter and most of all I lost money because AN EMPLOYEE decided I wasn't worth good service. When I was waiting for my phone another employee came and apologized for everything I went through and said he watched the whole situation and became he wasn't a manager he couldn't do anything, but he himself couldn't believe what happened! The only person that gave me any service was Erwin and another African American male who was lightskin, average height and I believe a low cut. Leslie did assist me after I emailed her and fixed the problem.
The District Manager and a Customer Service Manager reached out to me and apologized for everything that happened and promised to look into it and counsel on incorrect behaviors! I give her 5 stars for being quick...
Read moreA complete. Utter. Waste of time. I was a sprint customer for 7 years. I switched to T-Mobile because they had a better deal. My phone could be switched, but then I found out Sprint never properly unlocked my phone properly (they said they had).
so I went back to Sprint within 40 minutes to get my phone number ported back for at least a couple weeks until it could get unlocked properly.
I was made to wait. For almost an hour. While "Mike T." and "Matthew" talked with their coworkers about what sort of girl they like best. Whether they like "thicc girls" or "skinny girls" best.
I don't begrudge them their fun. But at the end of that almost-hour I was simply told that my account had been closed automatically, and that to get any additional assistance, I had to set up a new Sprint account and that I would have to pay the standard $35 activation fee and everything. I was told that this is standard procedure.
Why. Why does it take 45 minutes. To tell me about standard procedure. Why waste my time like that. They deactivated my account automatically. They didn't properly unlock my phone. Now I have to buy a brand new phone or pay Sprint to open up a brand new account.
This is U T T E R L Y R I D I C U L O U S. If they had just told me this was standard procedure from the beginning -- it wouldn't have been great, but I could've understood. But they wasted SO MUCH of my time.
and Mike T. smiled at me like he was making fun of me. Which...
