Weather was perfect yesterday! We met Jonathan and his company's seasonally created popsicles - Popston. His creations were fun and delicious and we tried a few of them. The Zombiyada was a salty detour and was one of our friends favorites today, and he said he will be back next weekend :)

This is a great park for kids and the park has very active staff ((only park that I have ever seen/met in Houston (and frankly, who are they and where do they come from?)) is nice enough to keep games around on wheeled kiosks. This park staff will shoo you and your children away if I trying to sit in a walking area, and/or give directions or insight into park activity, but again have no idea who they work for but they wear matching t-shirts so I guess they know what they are doing :)

The hot weather activates the splash pad but today it was chilly enough to keep it turned off.

There is a large and thriving garden off to one side, that is fun to show the little ones what veggies and fruit look like when they grow, and all of the veggies are above ground or on trees. Not sure where, when or who harvests this eventual bounty but hopefully some business or local residents benefit somehow.

The ground near the splash pad has a large padded area with artificial turf hills that the little ones love to climb and slide down, and within an hour or so, any very active little ones are sure to be worn out...

One of the biggest highlights is the kid-friendly water pad, which was a huge hit with my little ones. It’s clean, well-maintained, and the perfect spot for children to cool off during warmer days. The water features are engaging and safe, with plenty of seating for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their kids.

For dog lovers, the park is equally fantastic! It’s a dog-friendly environment with plenty of open space where your pup can run and play. There are designated dog waste stations, which is great for keeping the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.

What truly sets this park apart, though, is the variety of free events they host throughout the year. From outdoor concerts to yoga classes, there always seems to be something happening. These events make it easy to enjoy the park in new and exciting ways each time you visit, and best of all, they’re completely free!

The restrooms are clean and well maintained. So it’s definitely a plus. Also, there’s always a friendly security guard in the park.
