I’ve been trying to get back into doing art again after experiencing anhedonia and other things I won’t get into at the moment.
I’ve always wanted to come inside this store and I did, on Rodney’s birthday last year sometime. However, I didn’t feel worthy enough to return, not because I stopped creating by choice, but because I felt like I had abandoned art.
Lately, I’ve been trying to stay hopeful and remembered how drawing and painting used to bring me back to a simpler, happier time in my life.
Today, I found a little bit of confidence. After spending time writing down notes and questions to ask, I took a deep breath — in and out and walked into the store. I’m proud of myself for that.
I want to give a special thank you to Sierra, Rodney, and Erica for sticking around and answering all my questions. It gave me the boost I needed to get started.
I finally got the watercolor paints I’ve been eyeing for months on Amazon haha. I was introduced to high-quality supplies I never even knew existed. Yes, that’s me; I’ve been living under a rock for years.
Now I know exactly where to return whenever I fully dive back into the hobbies and interests I’ve always longed for. My next project? I want to try oil painting, polymer clay, and really immerse myself back into as much art as possible.
“After everything, art didn’t ask where I’d been it just let me begin again." -Me
P.S. I came for the paints… stayed for the gneiss people.

Read morelet me start off by saying I have been a patron of this store forever. I am an avid watercolor artist who goes through supplies regularly. The store doesn't seem to generate a lot of buisness so I always made sure to exclusively spend money here when it comes to art supplies. This store is the only local place that carries these recycled notebooks that I adore. I use them for everything. Well, I asked the cashier early today after only purchasing notebooks I asked if they had any folders too. The light brown haired guy behind the register was so rude that I do not know if i will ever return. He verbatim told me, "you are better off going to the dollar store. This is an art supply store, not an office max". Unbelievable dude. I'm looking to spend money at your establishment and you are going to talk down to me? not cool. Also this person has seen me buy paint supplies here. So all in all. the store has a good selection. I used to adore coming here. But the staff is so rude and patronizing that I...
Read moreAs far as supplies go, it's the GO-To place.. usually all staff is knowledgeable and really courteous! But today I went in and I normally spend a great amount of time and money and today was never so glad to get my mat board and get outta dodge! I was wearing my mask and they acted like they couldn't hear so I grabbed mask and pulled away from my face to tell them again to only get rudely snapped at 2x.. not to mention, acting like they were rushing me away from matting area..( normally put price on wrapped up board but she told me to take it to register.. not seeing my other massa paper, I asked cashier and again somewhat rude.. lady hears me and told me wrapped with it. I had more stuff to purchase, but I got outta there as quick as possible. I guess I'll be buying triple price of matting board at hobby lobby now! A friend was with me also to purchase matting board but after that experience, she...
