I just tried the Great Greek for the first time this evening, I took home a spread of different options I consider my “must tries” for Greek restaurants and across the board I thought the quality was fantastic and I enjoyed all of them in their own way. The things that really blew me away were the Hummus (though I added extra EVOO at home because I’m obsessed with it) and the Feta. Oh that feta, so crumbly and creamy, I love it when it isn’t a hard block but fresh like this instead. Anyhoo on the big photo I shared everything we ordered, the Greek salads were an awesome appetizer, all the veggies were really fresh, the cheese (as described above) was amazing, I don’t love eating lots of onion raw so I may have picked around it a little but the olives and tomatoes had a nice texture and weren’t soggy. The falafel I bought “a la carte” because I had enough food but had to try some, so I ate it dipped in Hummus. At first glance I don’t love the patty shape as opposed to the ball form I’m used to be in reality the texture was great, they were moist inside, the flavor complemented the hummus impeccably, and in reality this IS an easier shape to eat. I was proven wrong, happy to admit it. The hummus was super creamy (only time I’ve had it this creamy was borrowing a family member’s vitamix blender), it was hearty, tasted real, and I love the splash of spices and chickpeas on top. As I mentioned I’m an olive oil addict so I added a dash on top, but I’d eat this with a spoon.. and I just might! The gyro we got was the beef+Lamb, I don’t think it had an exceptionally different flavor per se but it was a solid offering. Slightly crisp outside, definitely moist and not dried out, and wasn’t gamey. We got the gyro without tomatoes, added olives, and opened it to spread out the feta and tzaziki since we like having a bit in every bite. It was a solid wrap, I actually think the rest of the meal stood out more than the gyro but only because they exceeded my expectations so much. I think all the sides and appetizers were so good I’d go more so for the mezze platter than I would for one entree. The chicken souvlaki- I was so enjoying the rest of the meal I barely touched this until I was pretty much full, the kabobs were nice and charred (shows it was actually roasted and not just baked)- the chicken was tender and moist and flavorful, but by the time I had all the flavors from the rest of the meal bombarding my tastebuds I thought this was a little milder so I dipped this in the tzaziki which Zazzed it up nicely. The baklava had an awesome flavor, I prefer mine a little more airy but the flavor on these was some of the best I’ve had so it was overall some of the better ones I’ve had. That syrup was just SO good.

It's counter service, so after I figured out what to get, I made my order and chose a table. The restaurant is very clean, and I love the decor (it's a classic blue and white Greek vibe). They were surprisingly busy for a new restaurant! Good for them! Now what you came for, how was the food? Greek Salad - fresh ingredients, perfect amount of dressing (not too much, not too little), great classic flavor Chicken Gyro - This thing is huge! I was not expecting the gyro to be this big, and wow is it good! It's packed with tender chicken and veggies and it couldn't roll up and close on itself if it tried to. It may have had a little bit too much tsaziki sauce, but that's personal preference. Baklava - I'm a big fan of dessert - like, every meal must have a sweet finisher to it - and this baklava was perfect! Crispy layers are all stacked up and it's not too saturated on the bottom (I hate soggy baklava). The front of house guy, Daniel, is a rockstar. He came and checked on me a few times and was extremely genuine. He was very welcoming and wanted to make sure I loved everything I received. I can't wait to come back.

I went to *The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill* in Friendswood, and honestly, it was a great experience from start to finish. The food was amazing—the **gyros were packed with flavor**, the meat was perfectly seasoned, and the pita was warm and soft. I also got the **French fries**, and they were surprisingly good—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and well-seasoned. The service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and efficient, and what really stood out was the **owner walking around, checking on tables** to make sure everyone was happy with their food. You don’t see that often, and it made the experience feel more personal. The restaurant itself was **super clean**, and they even have a **nice patio** if you want to sit outside. It’s well-kept, which is a big plus. Overall, if you're craving Mediterranean food, this place is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere—I’ll definitely be back!

A Flavorful Delight at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill!

Rating: ★★★★★

Review:

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, and I must say that it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

Let's get straight to the star of the show: the gyro sandwich. Wow! It was hands down the best gyro sandwich I have ever had. The combination of tender, succulent meat, perfectly seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices, was an absolute delight for my taste buds. The pita bread was soft and fluffy, and the generous toppings of fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and tangy tzatziki sauce elevated the flavors to a whole new level. Every bite was pure bliss, and I found myself savoring each morsel until the very last crumb.

Aside from the exceptional food, what truly stood out was the outstanding customer service I received. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their cuisine. They took the time to explain the menu, offer recommendations, and ensure that I had a memorable dining experience. Their friendliness and professionalism created a welcoming environment that made me feel like a valued guest.

All in all, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill exceeded my expectations in every way. From the phenomenal gyro sandwich to the exceptional customer service, I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or simply looking for a delicious meal, I highly recommend visiting this gem of a restaurant. I certainly can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing...

I've been trying to find a good Greek restaurant since moving to Texas 3 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the food at The Great Greek. I've always loved Greek and Italian food and ordered the gyro platter, a large Greek salad, the appitizer sampler and the dessert sampler. Both the gyro platter and appitizer sampler came with side Greek salads, so I was happy to have extra as the salad was delicious. The appitizer sampler came with 2 grape leaves, 2 pieces of falafel, 1 piece of spanikopita (spinach pie) and a small container of hummus. The grape leaves were delicious, as was the spanikopita. However, I found the hummus a bit too spicy for my liking. Also, while I enjoyed the flavor of the falafel, it was very dry, so I had to dip it in the tzatziki sauce to eat. The gyro platter comes with gyro meat on a pita & served with either rice or french fries. I chose the french fries, but couldn't eat them as they were a little soggy. However, they crisped right up the next day in my air fryer and tasted amazing. The dessert sampler came with a nice size piece of baklava, a large container of rice pudding and something I'd never tried before, baklava ice cream. OMG! yum! Baklava ice cream is my new favorite dessert! It is vanilla ice cream with pieces of baklava & honey sauce spooned over the top. The piece of baklava was good, but a little dry, so I added my own honey and then it was perfect. I was not thrilled with the rice pudding. I will DEFINITELY go back for the gyro platter, the Greek salad, the spanikpita and the...
