Went into this Fleet Farm Saturday Morning to exchange or preferably return my two 8' candy cane decorations. I had bought two of these for $100 a piece at Lakeville Fleet Farm. The boxes they came in had seen better days but I don't save the boxes when I store them so I wasn't concerened.
I got my first candy cane set up the day after buying it with some struggle because the pieces were not welded in quite the right spot. I step back to look at it and it's not standing straight up. Not the end of the world, I figure maybe they'll both lean, I'll make it work or secure them or something.
A week later I have time to finish the Christmas decorations for our boys first Christmas at our new place in Hudson. I pull the second candy cane out of the box and am quickly disappointed again because one of the bars has a large amount of paint scratched off. Again, I figured let's move on, it shouldn't be visible when assembled, I'll get over it, and continue on. I go to assemble this candy cane and after 25ish attemptes 15ish frustrated mins of trying to put the screw in the hole of the base so it sits straight I almost have it and the base breaks.
I give up I've put too much effort into making poorly made decorations work.
I take down the candy cane I built see that it already has rust on one af the bars where paint came scratched... This is an outdoor decoration being sold in MN that has been out for a little WI rain, 1 week! I pack everything up bring it to my new Fleet Farm the next morning. I realize while loading the cart with candy cane pieces I forgot 3 at home. oh well, we're here I'll at least drop this cart of stuff off and talk to them. I'm sure I can bring the 3 forgotten pieces of "trash" back this afternoon.
I walk in and explain my situation the wonderful girl behind the counter says she understands and will just have to confirm with her manager because I didn't have my receipt. She come back quickly and says we can figure out at least an exchange but I would need to bring the missing pieces in and the boxes in. I was hoping I didn't have to go back for them but I understood completely so I ran back home taking care of errunds, baby, and animals in between make it back maybe an hour and a half later with all the parts (wrapped 2 awkward pieces up nice for them, since they were kind) and 1 box. The other one had gotten beer and grossenes on it (and they are 4 foot boxes!). The friendly folks at counter said no problem about the box. I'm asked when I bought it... Last week. I'm asked where... Lakeville. I'm asked if I have receipt... I say no, again. An employee needed manager approval then that manager needed manager approval. so Kyle (maybe Chris) Asst. Store Manager guy wearing white button down. Eventually said no, I would have to take it back to Lakeville location where I purchased because I didn't have a receipt. I asked again to be clear could I at least exchange these ones and could we open another to make sure it's not trash straight from the factory like the 2 I recieved. He said no because I don't have a receipt and because they haven't pulled them out yet.
I took the clue from this store manager with no people skills asked for help getting the cart full of candy cane parts to my car and am helped by an energetic young man all the way to my car. He even asks if need any more help when we get there, at this point the store manager got me feeling pretty down so that was very appreciated. Before I leave another young girl comes running out the store with a smile and my candy cane box. That was appreciated too. Due to Kyles attitude, poor explanation (purposful stonewalling), and lack of sympathy I likely will not be back to my local Fleet Farm. There are ways to say no polilietly. I understand loosing my reciept puts me at your discretion but be...
Read moreWe arrived at approximately 1130am knowing exactly what firearm I was purchasing. No questions no complaints, just a quick easy transaction (minus the government part obviously). I was helped before noon by Carter. We waited 2 hours, was told that we're "next in the queue". Carter disappeared. 330pm New employees showed up, after about a half hour we were asked if we needed help by Steve (he was great and needs a raise, seriously). There was an issue with the internal fleetfarm system which did delay us an additional 15-20min at the end but no one besides the coders have control of that. Now at this point, I'm reasonably upset with how much of my time has been wasted (approximately 4hours if youre counting) as I watch an Indvidual show up, look at a gun, and still check out before me in a total of about 30 minutes. This leads me to reasonably believe that there was some simple miscommunication and we slipped through the cracks. So before I make such a significant purchase I think its appropriate to make sure that I am indeed valued as a customer and that the employee who made the mistake is made aware of it, so others valuable time isn't wasted for no reason. I ask to speak to who ever is currently acting as the general manager in order to provide this opportunity for everyone to learn. As expected I'm met with insults and drop jaws. Apparently it takes a "person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact" in order to come up with such a creative solution as speaking to your employee about a shortcoming(he called me clairvoyant). Or at least that's what Tim, the store Manager, claimed. So I asked Tim if he were in my position, what's something that would ease his tensions. He simply responded with "I don't have expectations". So I simply responded that I'm not interested in the transaction. Tim continued to follow and harass me all the way to my ride and then took a picture of my roommates truck on his personal cell as we drove away for some reason (even though they have my social, address, and ethnic classification).
After this we decided to go to the Oakdale location as I've frequented this location and have always had an awesome experience with Steve back at the gun counter. They had 2 employees running checks(hudson had 4 employees running checks)... I was in and out of that location with my firearm in hand with a few other items in under 40 minutes.
After this experince I decided to call Tim back to let him know that they may want to contact that location to get some tips. Of course he comes up with the "Time of day" excuse...here's a picture I took of Tim's location about half way through our encounter. Overall very disappointed with the...

This store is losing its base shoppers.
Never have anything restocked. Simple things. Clay birds, fishing lures, disc golf discs, axes, rods and reels, the camping section is now non existent. There's shelving for camping gear but it's been empty since May. I wanted to buy some clays a couple weeks ago. There was one box of broken birds on the shelf. A week later I returned to find the same lonely box of broken birds still dead center of the empty shelf. I understand some items are harder to resupply than others but I'm not talking about .223 ammo.
I love FF but I also have a list of basic things that this store cannot seem to order or even put on backorder. I got a FF credit card because I would use it at the store so often. Now when I look at my balance most purchases are at stores a block away. Many life long customers are being forced to buy things at WM and Menards down the road. I would rather spend 5% more supporting a store that supports the Second Ammendment but I reluctantly have been patronizing Walmart.
Get it together Hudson FF management before your base is completely eradicated and employees are out of a job.
11/4/20 I went to get tires new tires. Hour long apt. I was in the parking lot and literally saw my car get pulled around to the front, the service guy got out and went into auto section of the store, turned off the lights and locked the door. All before I could walk across the parking lot. Never received a call my car was done as promised. I spent the next 50 minutes dealing with the manager to get my effing keys back and to pay my invoice! Started my car and now the check engine light is on because they tripped the 02 censor. I will not recommend anyone to Fleet Farm Auto Center and will be warning...
