Ideal Handyman — Local services in Hudson

Probably the best thing I can say about Ideal Handyman is that I was going to give them 4 stars . . . now I wish I could give them more than 5. I had Marcelo and his group do a bunch of odds and end repairs at my house as well as pressure cleaning and a playset removal. To be honest, I feel that their pricing is on the high end and so I was skeptical to use them at first. My only criticism of them was that one of the fixes (a shower trim replacement) needed parts that could have been ordered when I accepted the quote - it was not. Instead it was ordered when the showed up to do the other work . . . which caused a big lag in getting all of the work done. : ( HOWEVER, these guys show up when they say they will, work the ENTIRE time they are there, are professional, polite, check in with you when the work is done, AND come back if there are any issues with their repairs (no charge). On top of that they are HONEST. For the shower trim mentioned above, I found a replacement and bought it. Because materials were part of my quote and their replacement never arrived, they got a refund for the part they ordered . . . which they passed on to me. They did not try to hide that they got a refund, nor was I hassled about parts cost/refunding. That is what I value - people I can TRUST. If paying a little more means I get the peace of mind that they will work on it to my satisfaction and will not try to take advantage of me, I'll happily pay a...

Marcelo is amazing!! Very responsive, easy to work with. I’m super happy with his work!! He opened up a wall of the kitchen and created a new room with a couple wall. Everything was beautiful! He’s flexible and LISTENS to me. When I told him I wanted the new room pretty basic and I was more concerned about saving money, he trimmed down! 90% of project was done in 5 days. Easy breezy. He’s an NICE GUY and the guys working with him were all great. Very trustworthy. I tell my friends that I learned 3 very important things about home renovation projects: they aren’t terribly expensive, home renovations projects don’t interrupt your life, and they are easy and enjoyable! We can’t say enough good things about Marcelo and his team — Marcelo is so thoughtful and patient when talking through details of a job, and the team is very efficient, courteous, and clean. The work they do is quality, and they take care to make sure it’s done the right way, and with the customer’s best interests in mind. We had a small deck with stairs added on to the back of our house with a slider, and the whole experience was fantastic and we are so very happy with the end result!
