I recently started shopping at Aldi weekly for my groceries at the one on the Parkway next to Drake Avenue. I purchased two of the solar rocks about a month ago and they were not bright, so I decided to return them on June 9th.
I arrived to the store and immediately went to return the rocks to take care of business before grocery shopping.
The next Monday I noticed that the return was showing, the purchase I made for $143 worth of groceries and middle aisle items was showing, and a third mystery charge for $72.50 was also showing.
I have since been getting the run around with corporate about getting this resolved and this employee reprimanded. It is very surprising that such a large company can have such a blaring internal control issue and be totally unaware of it. The customer service reps have continuously made me feel like the don't believe me and think I have Alzheimers or something. I am 34 with a masters degree in Accounting. I know what I purchased that day.
I cannot wait for them to roll the tapes back and call me back with their tails tucked between their legs. Danesha needs to be fired. I am not totally sure what happened, but I think she knew the person behind me or something and kept my return open to pay for her $72.50 worth of groceries. I am not sure if this is what happened exactly, but I do not think Danesha still has any access to my card, but was able to push through a fraudulent transaction. I am sure she will claim user error, but she needs to have the manager stand beside her for the full refund ever time in the future. The manager comes up and does what they need to for a refund and then just leave. What is the point in that if al they do is come up, do their manager approval thing, and then immediately turn around and leave? The manager on duty that day who Danesha called over to do his part was a young guy name Noah. See? No Alzheimers going on here :) I remember the details and will no longer be shopping here until I receive my refund and the internal controls are...
Read moreBeware Manager James! I had recently discovered the pleasure of this Aldi, as I have never visited one in the US. On my second trip, it happened that the only quarter I had was one I wanted to keep. Easy enough, just make sure you leave with the same cart you took in. When we were getting ready to pay, I tried to switch our stuff back into our cart, but Manager James yanked it out of my hands. I was taken aback, but explained that I wanted my quarter back, to which he responded that he needed that particular cart. So, if he wouldn't let me have the cart, but I had another one, I could just switch the quarters. As I began to attempt this, my husband explained that it was a special quarter to me. Again Manager James yanked the cart out of my hands and demanded to know what I was doing. I told him I was switching the quarters, at which point he told me I couldn't because we would then need a third cart to unlock them. This is a lie. Having lived in the UK AND worked at Lidl, I am well versed in the cart system. Plug two into each other, remove the coins, then put the coins back in and viola, they're unplugged again. At this point I was seriously getting upset, but this guy tugged the cart closer and refused to let me near it. Needless to say, I won't be returning to a place that not only treats me like this, but steals...
Read moreI have recently had two bad experiences with this location back to back. The first instance, I had placed a curbside pickup order and found a notable amount of my items missing without refund and damaged. The curbside associate roughly threw sodas into my trunk and I found they had leaked when I got home. I contacted customer support about this particular incident, and they issued me an ALDI e-gift card. I went to this location to redeem the gift card. I have been shopping here for a few years and did not recognize the new cashier who was having trouble inputting the gift card. He called his manager, James, who I recognized as the curbside associate from the previous incident. The manager did not know what an ALDI e-gift card was and then declared they only accepted physical ALDI gift cards. I would understand this if it was even slightly indicated to me by customer service or in the fine print of the e-gift card that it was only eligible at participating locations, but it is clearly stated that it is eligible at all US ALDI locations. Very frustrated with my recent experiences given I’ve had only good ones for the past few years at...
