About 2 months ago I went to this dairy queen. The girl in the drive thru didn't do the upside down things with the blizzards. It says on their sign of they don't do this and you catch them you get a reward. So I called the girl out. I believe she was a manager. She gave me two coupons to use whenever. She didn't stamp them or anything. I live in independence so this is the only location I go to. So tonight after a long road trip and working, I thought a blizzard sounded great. My fiancee wanted a sundae. So I went through the drive thru and placed my order. I let them know I had a coupon for a free sundae and then ordered a blizzard too. When I pulled around, the manager who was a man from Indian descent was rude when I provided him with the coupon. He said it wasn't from his store and he refused to take it because it wasn't stamped. Even though I described the girl who gave it to me. I told him I think she was a manager, and he said hatefully that he was the manager and he didn't believe it came from his store. Another employee was standing behind him and I felt like she might have been the girl, but I sure I wasn't calling her out. I do know she was there that night. He was gonna give me the sundae free anyway but I told him no because I still had another coupon from his store plus the one he refused. They've lost my business. I will never go back to that place again. IDK where there are anymore dairy queens, but if they are like this and being managed by rude people then they don't deserve my business. Im sure someone else has coupons that weren't stamped from that store as well. I bet if I were from his country I wouldn't have been treated like that. I went to this location 3 hours before close on 4/23/25 and ordered ice cream, I got all the way home tasted it, and it was absolutely awful, I love Dairy Queen and order ice cream here often so I know how it’s supposed to taste, and that wasn’t it. I called before hand and was told to bring it back up there (which was an inconvenience within itself, but whatever I did it)I brought my order back and the told the manager of the problem (again) , IT TASTE SPOILED. She then had an employee taste and they agreed it tasted like rotten milk, we then had SEVERAL other customers taste a sample straight from the machine and they all agreed IT TASTE WEIRD, Tangy almost, which is obviously not what ice cream should taste like.
The manager on duty did her best to remedy the situation, she changed the bag and remade my order but to no avail.(it still tasted like a cows moldy titty just topped with fudge and nuts) I’m grateful to the woman that was behind me in line that witnessed this whole thing as well as the nice family that also offered to taste the ice cream just to prove that I was in fact, not lying. By the time my order was remade I was just so tired, completely over the situation and wanted to go home. Read moreFood is always rly good and fresh!! I usually don’t leave reviews, but as someone who works in food I definitely feel like drive thru service is lacking. I try really hard to give the benefit of the doubt bc I know not everything is as appears on the outside. I also try really hard to be the customer I’d want to serve. I wasn’t greeted by the guy over the speaker, and I forgot to tell him what count I want for my chicken tenders. I definitely apologized for being a little unprepared, but he was quick to respond back with a really sassy tone and just overall seemed bothered. When I got to the window, the girl kept handing me all of my stuff and saying “here you go,” but never said you’re welcome, bye, or have a goodnight. She handed me the last item and turned straight around. I hate writing reviews soooo much, but it can be frustrating from a customers end knowing that you didn’t warrant anything like that.
